Crash and locking

Hi everyone I have been playing for a couple weeks now but I am having lots of crashing problems. I can usually play for around an hour or so then the game locks along with pc. I am on windows xp home edition. I have updated my video card drivers. I am running the game with wineq2.0. I am running speed fan and the temperatures are not getting overly high. Is there any recommendations on what I can do to make it run better? Thank you in advance for any information
