Client crash on camp out

I used to crash on camp out all the time, in fact it was the only time I would ever crash... here's how I fixed it.

Move the Everquest directory to a location not managed by windows, I chose the root of the C:\ drive.

The problem is Window's folders like Program Files, Documents, or Desktop don't allow you to write onto them all the time, even when you explicitly give it permission. Moving out of a windows folder fixes this.

What's happening is Everquest is trying to save the cache at the end of the session but it doesn't have write privileges so it hangs.
