Declaration of War bugged?

Hello, just checking if its a bug or not that you need the period in You say, 'You can count on my help.' for the Declaration of War from Dain (after turning in the dagger of course). I did 5 dagger turn ins today and wrote You can count on my help without a period. Dain gave me no declaration of war. Either the period or a bug (or i'm missing something outside of the the period).
