It is silly not to compare the two vaccines when the trial period for the polio vaccine (Not when it was developed, since other SARS like vaccines have also been made before-2004 just as in your example) and the trial period for the Covid19 mRNA vaccine were almost the same time period.

And the polio vaccine then needed several boosters.
