This server has flourished more in the wild wild west era than ever before, staff intervention and adding rules has only deterred population here. Especially when no one is ever told what they are banned or suspended for lol, how can you expect people to follow the rules when they never know what rules they broke.

Pop has surged because a couple of guilds started handholding people new to server and decided to take the time to explain things to new people...not only new to red but to EQ.

I don't think that certain players chosen by GM's should be given VIP status, that to me sounds like blatant favoritism. Why should some players be allowed more influence on the server than others?
|
Because as guild leaders they already have more influence than anyone else. Most other people would chime in just to screw up/derail the threads.

Why do you want to step in now when the server is thriving all on it's own. Last time i saw a Gm intervene on a raid they death touched 20 members of the wrong guild when the other guild was the LNS offenders. I think these quick and rash decisions made from shooting from the hip rule enforcement, are more of a deterrent to playing here than any of the lax rule enforcement.

It's holding it's own and that's more due to guild policies and helpfulness than anything else. The toxics have tried even harder lately to flush population and keep people from enjoying red.

If you removed training, play nice policy, and LNS rules this server would thrive even more because although some players might suffer, at-least we wouldn't have 20 people banned a month with no clue why they were banned.

Without rules against training and LnS protections the server would die. Period. Especially with Velious on the horizon and the complete chaos that would ensue.

This isn't blue people who want to kill each other cant play nice stop treating the server like blue 2 and you will have a 3x the pop u do now. Sullon had no rules, sullon had the highest pop of any pvp server. Staff went away, server pop has never been higher. Staff should only deal with things like MQ use hacks, exploits, etc etc Anything else is a waste of staff and player's time and a deterrent to pop. And I guarantee any staff influence to ensure we all play nice on red will lower pop just as it always has.

Sullon drew ALL the toxics that couldn't play anywhere else to one server, along with a few of us that were so masochistic we had to play goodies, even. The only thing increased GM involvement will do will to be that people who have "fun" by ruining others' play will have less avenues of doing so.
What some people call "red" and "pvp" is just ruining other people's play. It has nothing to do with zone control, contesting, or anything else that is even remotely pvp.
Rallos had the right idea...not Sullon. Sullon style play is not appropriate for R99.
