You just have to categorize people differently than black and white thinking. Merge all the gender terms into one umbrella term, trans, and all the sexual deviancy terms into another term, sexuality.
Much like sexuality and gender are separate, these are two different umbrellas. The only reason why trans folk get merged into gay communities are due to the terminology made famous in 1970's (LGBT), when transgender issues were not exactly defined but were 'similar enough to the masses' to be lumped in with gays.
It's an easy way of looking at it that causes no confusion. A crossdresser who does something for sexual deviancy is in the realm of sexuality, while a crossdresser who does something because it makes them feel accepted is a trans issue.
