So I haven't played EQ in a couple months but I want to make a little return for the sky release (provided my old guildmates want anything to do with me), but I don't know when that will be :( I've heard rumors of it coming out with like every patch for the last month but the rumors have thusfar been wrong. Some unscrupulous character must have some inside information though, so heres the contest pals:

1) Give the date and time that you think the plane of sky will be released on this server
2) Name which guild you think will get the first Noble Dojorn kill (in the case that guilds team up to kill him (lol as if guilds actually work together on this server) the guild with the most players @ the kill is what counts)
3) The closest time and date with the correct guild prediction will win the prize*!

Rules:
1) one guess per forum account
2) only forum accounts w/ a registration date before June 1st 2010 and with >10 posts (before today) are eligible
3) time/date prediction is of when a wizard is first able to port a group up to Sky if it is not immediately available with the patch (like they did for hate)
4) I reserve the right to add more rules to this shit if people try and cheat or some shit.

Your pick of one of 3 prizes*, should you win:

1) $20 bucks on an internet poker site of your choice (stars, cake, full tilt, betfair, ultimatebet)
2) $20 donation to the server on your behalf
3) 2kpp
(*note: if giving out the $$ on pokersites is against the real money trade rules or whatever then that option is not available)

Hopefully your terrible, terrible guesses will give me a good basis to judge when approximately sky is released and I can arrange to have some free time around then! And if it's tomorrow then I already have free time!

I'll be giving the DB/Scripts in Sky the final touch ups tonight/this week.

With that said, it won't be released until 1) Corpse timers are correctly working. This includes:


6 minute decay timer on duel corpses.
2 hour rez timers.
24 hour online corpse decay timer.
7 day offline corpse decay timer.
Multiple uses of resurrection abilities on 1 corpse.


Currently, none of the above features are part of the emulator code, so it isn't just a variable in a DB field to "fix" it. The entire corpse code is going to get rewritten.

Feature list of current Plane of Sky:


Yes, your keys poof when you leave.
Yes, I found all the AE's for the bosses in sky.
Yes, this stuff is level 63+.
Yes, it has been tuned for a level 60 warrior in full Kunark gear.
Yes, the teleporters work.
Yes, the quest NPC's not only require books to summon the quest givers, it's the right books.
Yes, the Spiroc's are scripted to work correctly.
Yes, the Pegasii are scripted to work correctly.
Yes, the Bixie's are scripted to work correctly.
Yes, Sirran works.
Yes, every mob in the zone is running optimized db/di & AC calculations along with "appropriate" resists for their level.
Yes, this means they (the minibosses) have the potential to stomp your face, resist every nuke you have all the while laughing at the 1's your melee are spamming them with as they continually quad you for 740 & death touch.
No, I can't guarantee the loot tables are correct. No one resource has more than a ~40% accurate list.
No, if the zone screws up we will not come fix it for you. Wait for a patch.
No, if you are stupid and fall we will not port you back.
No, we will not resummon your keys for you if you fall out.
No, we will not reset the zone for you so you can kill the Hand.
Yes, we may patch on Sunday and take down the Hand that you spawned on Saturday. Tough. Plan better.
No, if you are trying to screw another raid by spawning Sirran your guild/raid won't be happy with you.
No, there was no delay between turning auto attack on and the LOADING PLEASE WAIT message if attacking the Overseer.
Yes, the rumors are true; I'm trying to make -at least- 1 person rage quit because of Sky.

Oh I forgot:


No, most of this didn't work when we started: You kept your keys, the teleporters didn't work, the Efreet->QG was broken/wrong, every drop table was wrong, Most mobs weren't pathing, no scripts were written, many mobs weren't even in the database, all of them had the wrong combat stats, and none of the recharge quests worked.

Decay Timers on duel corpses were the same as the rez timer I think?

You had 3 hours not 2 to get a rez from time of death? Maybe this was changed from classic? I don't remember.

I don't remember there being a 24 hour online corpse timer in classic but thinking back I guess most people would loot their corpse if they couldn't find a rez in the alotted time.

Multiple uses of resurrection on 1 corpse is correct and should be in. However there was a trick to get this to work and it was only used as basically a port tool.

Decay Timers on duel corpses were the same as the rez timer I think? Negative, Sky is/was the bitch ground for this. The rez timer on the corpse is 6 minutes, same if the corpse is naked. HEY, that is another one. Naked corpses only last 6 minutes.

Corpses that are older than 2 hours cannot be resurrected.
Corpses that are produced from a duel cannot be resurrected after 10 minutes.

From the patch notes of June 22, 2000

Previously, players had to be resurrected within two hours after death in order to receive any experience back as part of the resurrection. Due to the increased size and difficulty associated with Kunark zones, we've raised this limit from two hours to three. This should assist players and make it easier for them to obtain an experience-returning resurrection within the time limit.

From the patch notes of July 19, 2000

Resurrection:

The resurrection confirmation box will now report the name of the person casting the spell as well as what spell they are casting. Furthermore, experience will not be "removed" from your corpse until you accept the resurrection by choosing YES. Previously, any resurrection spell, if declined, would cause the experience to be unrecoverable.

NPC and PC corpses can now be /considered to find out how long until they decay, and PC corpses additionally tell you how long you have to resurrect them.

The timer for corpses is now seven days for any corpse over level five, whether the player is on-line or off-line or any combination of the two.

So there was a 24 hour online decay timer, just never noticed it.
