Trolling since a few years have been equal to posting retarded shit/acting retarded and excusing it by "lulz I trolled you", you can't sue retards.

The other issue is anonymity on the internet, is it important? Would it be a violation of a users privacy if a website disclosed their identity to the person/people being trolled?

Haven't read the article, but seeing its from the BBC it needs to be said that these laws wouldnt work in the US because of freedom of speech. Over in Europe people get arrested all the time for saying bad things about Jews, whereas over here that is protected under the 1st amendment.

I skimmed it, man. It's nonsense. Of course is would be a violation of privacy, that's what they are planning to do.
Anonymity is everything.
