View Full Version : Adjusted Server Rules

This is based on what I have read here and seen ingame.
Rule #1. Cheat. Cheat as much as you can. If you find a bug or exploit, you don't have a duty to report it, in fact, you have the right to abuse it as much as you possibly can. There won't be any punishments.
Rule #2. Use 3rd party programs. Has a bard been stealing your camp mobs? Use a program that shows you exactly where they are at all times. It makes it much easier to find them and root or snare them.
Rule #3. Talk shit. Especially if you are following rules 1 and 2. You are obviously better than everyone else who plays fairly. They are all noobs compared to you and should be treated like such.
Rule #4. Attack in groups. 3v1 or 4v1 is entirely fair, as long as you have the 3 or 4 people. After you prove how much better you are, see rule #3.
Rule #5. Lie. No one ever killed you. You tripped and hit your head on a rock. That "slain by" message was obviously a coding error. You are far too good to have died to noobs like that.
Feel free to add some more, it's actually rather fun.
(I know some people will want this moved, but this is neither a rant nor a flame, they are observations devoid of emotional context. Plus, it's funny.)

If you are referring to me, I would love it if I got banned. It would prove more than anything this ridiculousness that exists. I can be banned for speaking against (in a comical way) the obvious problems that exist, but the people who have done things that should be or are a bannable offense, get no punishment.
It would be a lovely hypocrisy. (See, now that's punny as hell)

Rule #1. Complain non-stop about exploits, using the vaguest possible definition of the term.
Rule #2. Use 3rd party programs. Has a bard been stealing your camp mobs? Use a program that shows you exactly where they are at all times. It makes it much easier to find them and root or snare them.
Rule #2. Complain about showeq use even when the server has a proven cheat detection system.
Rule #3. Talk shit. Especially if you are following rules 1 and 2. You are obviously better than everyone else who plays fairly. They are all noobs compared to you and should be treated like such.
Rule #3. Complain about people who trash talk, because insults like "poopiehead" and "dumb dumb" might hurt someone's feelings.
Rule #4. Attack in groups. 3v1 or 4v1 is entirely fair, as long as you have the 3 or 4 people. After you prove how much better you are, see rule #3.
Rule #4. Complain about players killing you when they outnumber you. No kill is legitimate unless it's a 1 on 1 fight where two equal-leveled players consent to meeting in the arena, each at 100% hp. If root is involved, forget it: root is an exploit (see rule #1).
Rule #5. Lie. No one ever killed you. You tripped and hit your head on a rock. That "slain by" message was obviously a coding error. You are far too good to have died to noobs like that.
Rule #5. Complain about Holocaust.

Oh this will be fun. I was waiting for someone to take the bait.
Rule #1. Complain non-stop about exploits, using the vaguest possible definition of the term.
I don't recall giving any definition at all, perhaps you should read it again. It's very short, it should only take you like 10 minutes to get through all three sentences. Sound them out slowly, it will help.
Rule #2. Complain about showeq use even when the server has a proven cheat detection system.
Proven? Because they caught people once and then banned some later? Do you even know how the real ShowEQ works?
But you're right, once a person is reprimanded for something they will never, ever, ever, ever do it again. Obviously people only cheat once in their whole life.
Rule #3. Complain about people who trash talk, because insults like "poopiehead" and "dumb dumb" might hurt someone's feelings.
Oh yes, we are all, myself especially, incredibly sensitive people. I cry myself to sleep over it.
This one was about the forum and people acting like elitists because their e-penis is a full 12 pixels long.
Rule #4. Complain about players killing you when they outnumber you. No kill is legitimate unless it's a 1 on 1 fight where two equal-leveled players consent to meeting in the arena, each at 100% hp. If root is involved, forget it: root is an exploit (see rule #1).
I've actually never been jumped by more than one person except once, and they did not kill me. Root doesn't mean a lot to casters. Dying is laughable, you are supposed to be killed in pvp. Bitching about it is stupid, hence the whole humorous undertone of the post.
Rule #5. Complain about Holocaust.
Who the hell is Holocaust? I have never seen a single person with a Holocaust tag. The only thing I know about them is from people like you who whine on here.
This was a joke. J-O-K-E. It is an attempt at humor to define the amusing aspects of both the server and the forum. It is intentionally silly and meant to be comical. If you think your opinion has meaning, you are incorrect. So please, unwad your panties.

I'm not sure you actually read the articles. For instance this quote.
"It's the same code, really," Rogean said. "It's a very similar setup. We have a disadvantage compared to SOE, though, because we have no control over the client. We cannot make any modifications to the client itself, as that would be a copyright violation. So we aren't easily able to put anything in that will either prevent the hacks or detect them."
It does not mean the GMs here cannot catch people, but it is not infallible. Not a single GM here would say there are no players using 3rd party programs because they know there is no way to be absolutely sure of it.
If you think no one is using on p99 you are definitely taking better drugs than I am. I've seen people who can't track find a friend of mine no matter where he went in a very large zone. I'll admit he's an asshole and might deserve a few deaths, but the odds of a non-tracker continuously finding a bard who is constantly moving, and doing so consistently, are astronomical.

You'll have to forgive the double post, it's not allowing me to edit the previous one.
I assure you that I did laugh at you, quite a bit. I have read your other posts here and you weren't joking. You are one of the elitist wannabes that calls other people crybabies because they bitch about something.
It's obvious there are a lot of problems on PvP at the moment, but if no one bitches about them, although most of it is excessively whiny, nothing will ever be done to fix them.
I am happy that you wish this server to be dead in three months, but quite a few people do not. It's only been a month and already the population is steadily declining instead of rising. When PvP open there were as many, oftentimes more, people playing on Red than Blue. Now at best you have 2/3rds of Blue, usually less consistently. That is not a trend that bodes well for the Red server.
I do not care if you dislike me or what I say. I do not care if I am banned from this forum or from the game itself. It's just a game, there have been and will be many others, perhaps not as good as EQ though.
I am not upset, nor am I pissed off. I am disappointed. I truly believed that the Red server would be fair and equal, as much as was possible, and that the "Ban Hammer" would not be sitting in the corner gathering dust.
People have admitted and been seen and videoed taking advantage of problems in the game mechanics and using loopholes in the game to benefit themselves. This simply should not happen without consequence. What point is there in following the rules when others do not and get away with it?
If you desire specifics, let's point to the two main ones being continuously brought up.
First, killing Lord Nagafen with one group because he wasn't casting his AoE spells. I recall something about an entire guild being banned on Live for a similar bug on the Sleeper where he got trapped in a wall. (I am not advocating banning anyone, but a suspension shouldn't be out of the question.)
Second, the use of rechargeable items. Yes this was in Classic, but back then people didn't have a server for two years prior to PvP opening in which they could learn such things and then abuse them. PvP and PvE came out simultaneously, or close enough not to matter, so no one had long-standing prior knowledge of how to use things. (I don't wish for these people to be banned either, but suspending them for a little while so the people who grind as was intended get the chance to be on equal footing is not too much to ask for.)
Lastly, people like Lovely do annoy me. Not because of what he has done, but for the fact that he is continuously rubbing it in the face of the people who worked their asses off to level up. I am too low to be attacked by a lvl 50 so I have no personal stake in the matter, but it is still irksome to see almost every post of his basically saying "haha I got away with it and made sure you can't ever do it."
PvP requires assholes and douchebags, but they should have to earn it the hard way like everyone else.

1) Jokes are funny.
2) You are not funny.
3) Therefore, this isn't a joke.

What's wrong lil' fella? Did I insult you because you're one of the people I refered to?
Kill myself? Is that really the best you could come up with? You are so smart, I bet your IQ is almost as high as you character level.
At least put a little thought into your post if you are going to reply. I may not agree with Lazortag, but at least he's putting a little thought into what he says. If you want to try and argue with me, please do. I'm not going to get angry and tell you to kill yourself, I promise. Such things are beneath me, and most people over the age of 14.
