Yeah there's tons of shit I could have listed but didn't because 1994 produced > 500,000 amazing things.

The games I listed all became / were part of gigantic IPs for their respective studios tho.

You couldn't have 1994 without 1993. I could make similar post about 1993, and it might be better. '94 was good, but do not forget '93.

Also, 1996 was the polished crown of this era, before everything turned to shit. The music, the movies, the cars..

I decided to try this with another random year... Personally I think 1986 was more epic than 94:

Why 1986 tops 1994:

Aliens
Platoon
Big Trouble in Little China
Labrynth
Highlander
Blue Velvet
Class of Nuke'Em High
Transformers: The Movie

The Legend of Zelda
Metroid
Outrun (arcade)
Dragon Quest
Bubble Bobble
Sega Master System

Jello Biafra defeats the PMRC in court

Sonic Youth: Evol
Skinny Puppy: Mind the Perpetual Intercourse
Dead Kennedy's: Bedtime for Democracy
The Cramps: A Date with Elvis
Metallica: Master of Puppets

Bands formed in 86:
Boredoms
Cypress Hill
M.O.D.
Social Disorder
Sacred Reich
Frontline Assembly
The Pixies

(Making the list got boring once I realized it didn't matter what year I would have picked, particularly from the last millennium.)

In this thread:

People who think that their opinions matter more than others.

Thinking that NIN is better than Skinny Puppy,
or that Super Metroid was a more important milestone than Metroid,
or that Four Weddings & a Funeral is a better movie than Big Trouble in Little China,
or that Oasis should be on any list that isn't discussing piece of shit bands,
this is all fine... I don't care what your opinion is on these things.

Shrugging off the importance of the Biafra win versus the PMRC shows either ignorance or just your age... especially considering all the music you have been posting on these forums lately.

Whoa now I know you're still dressed up like alice cooper ca. 1986 but there's no need to get defensive about the year itself

Honestly, Trent was mad genius. I really liked SP back in the day, but comparing SP to NIN is kind of disingenuous to the extent that apples aren't oranges. If your metric is "which is more thrash/industrial," then obv. SP wins, but if your metric is "which one person is the most competent producer of music spanning several genres," then Trent wins.

Just saying.

Carry on.

I'm more of the mindset that Trent was highlty influenced by the first wave of Industrial music. And if we are talking production talent than you should be comparing Trent to Kevin Key's work since Skinny Puppy is but one of many projects he was responsible for. Trent has done some great stuff to be sure, but would he have done what he did if not for influences like SP, Cabaret Voltaire, Severd Heads, etc? Well that's another discussion all together. Trent is great at utilizing the latest technologies into his music but Kevin was doing shit that nobody had ever heard the likes of with extremely primitive equipment and techniques. This of course does not detract from your opinion in any way.

@Japan... I hate Alice Cooper and your statment shows your ignorance to musical genres in general.
