On a server where accounts are free whats to stop people/guilds from making throw away accounts to cheat/track spawns? If you get caught who cares they can make a new account and PL the toon again. If you want to get rid of cheaters you neep to I.P. ban.

This is 2011.

I'm fairly certain it takes longer to level a character to 50 than it does to change your IP.


annnd how do you know they aren't IP bans?

and all accounts associated with the cheater should be banned. His "main account" and his "trader account" not just his "level 20 showEQ tracking account"

i think it takes 40 seconds to get a new IP Address but I could be wrong......... "Abdoul can I get a number crunch"

less for me ... unplug router, replug it .. tada new ip ... or if i want to eat corn the long way i go into the admin panel and reconnect to the interwebs for new IP love :eek:

they still need to lvl from lvl 1 to 50 again.......and if they continue using cheat they will get banned again....so good work and continue it to get raid of the cheater

This only works if you're given a static IP. Some people I doubt would know how to actually get around an IP ban

dynamic ips are assigned to the computer itself. Which the IP banning will target the IP that the ISP gives the modem. <--Static IP

Kinda cruel if you have a brother/sister playing that cheats & do stupid things and get your IP banned. Some have same IP-adress all the time atleast in Sweden(but you can prolly go around that too, tough i dont think everyone is a computerwiz like you guys).

no, but any accounts that have logged in from the same IP should be banned and the IP exemption should be removed
