As far as the accusations of his 2box'n I just don't see the "proof" your screaming of. Someone said he was on another char, while his char was logged in? So what? I'm gonna throw a situation into the mix that will explain a possible scenario that occurred....

He has access to a friends character that will help but is the only one with access to it, he has another friend to log on his account while he plays the other character to help himself lvl.....

There are many variations of this situation that could be valid in this situation. The fact is the only way to know for sure if someone is 2 box'n is to have a GM/guide in game check to find out.....

Accuse the staff of whatever you like, but to pretend there is some kind of proof of 2 box'n in the OPs pic is a stretch.....questionable yes. Proof no..... It makes it sooo much harder on the staff when you guys blow stuff out of proportion or see some sort of "proof" that just isn't there....

If you see something questionable in game and feel something wrong is being done, Petition it. Regardless of what you might think the fact is that Rogean and Nilbog bust there ass to make sure things run as fairly as they can for EVERYONE who plays. The GM staff currently active are some of the most fair and attentive one's the server has ever had.....take advantage of that. Don't come on here with half truths and perceptions of what might have happened....Read into it if you must, but don't turn it into a witch hunt screaming of proof that doesn't exist.

Valid points, I guess it could've been manipulated. I just think there is still a bad taste in peoples mouth about the banning situation (like me).

Guess I just need to get over it, and enjoy classic EQ. It was just the lack of cheating was about 95% of the appeal of this server to me, cosidering this game is basically destroyed everywhere else by rampant cheating.

I assure you the staff has the same bad taste in their mouths. The fact is we have new procedures for catching cheaters and it's not something we take lightly. Things have been done and will continue to be done to try to ensure that we don't have this level of cheating on the server anymore.

I don't expect everyone to think things changed overnight or that we have it all figured out.

You don't have to agree with the decisions that were made or why they were made. But don't pretend like the staff is doing nothing or doesn't care. The fact is that a handful of people are trying to recreate and manage something an entire company (SoE) had issue's managing. On the whole I think the staff of p99 does a impressive job of maintaining this server and making it a fun place to relive old memories. Have a little faith, if you see something you don't agree with petition. If you feel like the staff could have handled a situation a better way, then explain your feelings in a rational manner. Don't flame or try to belittle the staff tho cause all that does is cause us to lose track of whatever valid points you may have...we are trying, we are not perfect. Neither are you.

We police the server more then SoE EVER did on live, if anything we care too much. The fact is because the staff cares so much, players have become accustomed to having a GM to settle every petty argument.

On live players were held accountable by other PLAYERS, the community policed itself and GM's were little to no help.


If anything I would argue that the staff cares too much and the players don't care enough.....take that how you will.

(I'd also like to point out that I do not speak for the entire staff, but I damn sure have an opinion. I'm sure Nilbog will ask me later not to make these kind of post again as it just encourages you guys to troll me more)

I'll sum up TR in a timeline of random and true events:

-IB/TR policy: Anyone proven using third party cheating programs will be guild-removed.
-Burple applies, talks about using MQ in vent on every fucking raid until I tell him to knock it off. I vote no, he passes application and is still a member afaik.
- I'm banned for accusatory MQ use (which didn't happen).
- Promised position in TR as a leader of Pantheon during the guild merge.
- Denied at the last moment due to my past ban.
- Various members and officers of TR are caught cheating in the recent sting.
- They are welcomed back with open arms and subsequently PLed to 60.

The staff was supposed to ban the accounts for hacking/using 3rd party programs. You're also forgetting the fact he was using these cheats as TR's raid leader and a integral part of their officer crew.

I think this opinion is a little extreme, I believe they did what they thought was best. Even if I don't agree with it, I think they are doing what they believe to be the best for the server.

Agreed, while most of the players on this server are pretty amazing, I have noticed that many players in the top two guilds generally don't care about the general population of the server. They are above us. Sorry to offend anyone :/

The real screenshot you actually needed was Perun feigned in that exact same spot 8 hours later, as the only person in skyfire, which he was when i ran my cleric to OT from BW (thru skyfire) to res some poor druid in the wee hours last night.

And that, too, offers 0 proof of 2boxing, only the fact that a level 55 monk wasn't actively contributing to a AE skyfire group. Which..... would be completely expected anyways.

TBH i'd be far more worried about TR if they completely turned their back on their friend, in order to appease both solo forum trolls and guilds with the loudest forum trolls.

the group composition in the screenshot is exactly as described in the /tell text (2 monks, acarer, etc). nobody has to ban him without proving he was boxing, to appease trolls, but an accusation against a known cheater with screens provided should be looked into. it's easy enough to tell who was on aleja, so if anything the screenshot should warrant one of the GM's to look into the matter further.

Guys stay on topic please. This thread has nothing to do with the staff or dev team. This thread only has to do with TR. There are rules against hacking, Perun has admitted to hacking. TR says they don't condone hacking and vow to remove hackers from their guild. They then allow those hackers to reapply and on a case by case basis they may rejoin the guild. By allowing them back in they essentially never removed them. As such their actions indicate they condone hacking despite their words saying the opposite. As an officer rather then a member i would expect breaking such a severe rule would be a more shameful thing then some random player/app and would call for a harsher punishment not a leaner one. Also if you believe that one case Perun admitted to was the only case then you are naive. The frustration he felt on that occasion i am sure was present at plenty of raids before that. If he gave into weakness once i am sure it happened more.

I could careless if you hang all the raiding guilds laundry out to dry and tear them apart. But when people are making accusations that the staff just doesn't care, or newer players are being led to believe that we don't. I will say something. Well, the lead guild on the server appears to be receiving preferential treatment from the staff. Maybe this is just appearances, or maybe you're playing on a non-legit sandbox. I tend to give the staff the benefit of the doubt because if TR really is the admin sandbox guild, why wouldn't they just fail to disclose the hacking by members of that guild?

But it reminds me of my time on "A Certain EMU PvP Server." During my time on "A Certain EMU PvP Server," I noticed a trend of "A Certain Guild" always receiving preferential treatment from the server staff. In my direct PvP confrontations with "A Certain Guild," they hacked and exploited worse than anybody else on the server. But they were never punished for it, other than a one-time slap on the wrist.

Why? Probably because it was their sandbox. The slap on the wrist was likely self imposed and only for the sake of appearances. The guild I ran with was composed of people like myself with careers and family. I often had to take breaks from leading Hate raids to change diapers and make bottles. My guild had to make a decision. Do we continue to play in a sandbox where the dominant guild has insurmountable advantages? Or do we quit?

We decided that we enjoyed playing in a PvP environment, even on a non-legit server, enough so that we kept playing. We took down some raid targets when "A Certain Guild" didn't batphone and get to them first or arrive on the scene and train us with utter impunity. Mostly we enjoyed playing together, and "A Certain Server" was the only viable PvP environment with enough entertainment value to keep us together.

So how do you police your own server? Well, after TR showed its true hypocritical nature, going from derision toward hackers in other guilds to welcoming their own hackers back with open arms, you need to find a way to out poopsock and out batphone them. You need to hail Emperor Salty and say "I want to slay dragons."

Because you can cry GM favoritism all you want, but as long as TR is more active, organized and faster to target than all the rest of you put together, guess who is going to be keyed for VP? Cry more.

I don't understand what the staff is supposed to do. He was temp banned and de-leveled just like everyone else that was caught cheating recently. (the reason for leniency has already been addressed by the staff so I won't do it here)

As far as the accusations of his 2box'n I just don't see the "proof" your screaming of. Someone said he was on another char, while his char was logged in? So what? I'm gonna throw a situation into the mix that will explain a possible scenario that occurred....

Perun was caught cheating and de-leveled to 54, he decided a AE group was the best way to get this xp back. He has access to a friends character that will help but is the only one with access to it, he has another friend to log on his account while he plays the other character to help himself lvl.....

There are many variations of this situation that could be valid in this situation. The fact is the only way to know for sure if someone is 2 box'n is to have a GM/guide in game check to find out.....

Accuse the staff of whatever you like, but to pretend there is some kind of proof of 2 box'n in the OPs pic is a stretch.....questionable yes. Proof no..... It makes it sooo much harder on the staff when you guys blow stuff out of proportion or see some sort of "proof" that just isn't there....

If you see something questionable in game and feel something wrong is being done, Petition it. Regardless of what you might think the fact is that Rogean and Nilbog bust there ass to make sure things run as fairly as they can for EVERYONE who plays. The GM staff currently active are some of the most fair and attentive one's the server has ever had.....take advantage of that. Don't come on here with half truths and perceptions of what might have happened....Read into it if you must, but don't turn it into a witch hunt screaming of proof that doesn't exist.
