I don't think that's fair, people complain when they feel there's something to complain about. The majority of people who play here enjoy the unforgiving nature of classic EQ. Personally I do like the xp and loot bonuses when they are limited to a few days, because it actually feels like a treat. After two weeks it seems arbitrary and just moves the game closer to the modern mmo's people are trying to avoid by playing here. Why not a 200% bonus? Why not 1000% Why not instancing? Why not xp potions? Why not mercs?

That being said, given it's draft week they can't just turn it off because it would be unfair to guilds who drafted longer vs shorter respawn targets. I'm thinking (hoping) it will turn off tomorrow once draft is over.
