Nobody of consequence was banned on Blue. Staff didn't enforce raid rules for anyone not tagged under the top 5 guilds. Now the current crew who has been doing this for years enjoy the CSR support. There is no conspiracy with the CSR team.

If someone really wants to camp Earth Staff, the solution is simple:
1. Get the timer. After a quake is easiest.
2. Scout the behavior of the current crew to see how many hours before Magi spawn they log in, what they do, etc.
3. Log in hours before that, and get to Magi before their normal log in time.

You can also plan Hate raids with your guild around the same time.

If you aren't willing to out neckbeard the neckbeards, you aren't going to get your Earth Staff.

If you are saying there are unguilded players camped in hate to get around the rules specific to guilds, just do the same thing.

If they are actually breaking the rules somehow, you could even record them and post the evidence everywhere, so it can't be denied. Action may be taken then.

If you just give up and assume you can't win, that is how the farm crew wins.

This is the main source of information for raid rules to my knowledge. The top post gets updated by the staff as needed. You can see the top post was last edited in July of 2025.

They actually removed the Hate Minis zone vacate requirement in May last year:

So unless there are some rules posted elsewhere that overwrite the rules thread above, it sounds like you can compete with the farm crews just fine.

As I said before:
1. Get the spawn timers.
2. Scout the behavior of the existing farm crew(s).
3. Park your own characters in Hate, and claim the camp before them.

You can even organize Hate raids around the same time if you want to clear Hate before they typically log in, so you can get whatever characters you want up there to hold the camp. It doesn't even look like Inny/Maestro have a zone vacate requirement, so you shouldn't need to leave even if they spawn.

I agree. I think people simply don't have the will to beat the farm crews, because most players don't care about Earth Staff. Even if farm crews disappeared tomorrow, it takes a long time for an Earth Staff to drop. You could get better raid items for other classes in the same time spent. Unfortunately Mage Epic is mostly just a toy/status symbol on P99.

So it seems like OP just has a large misunderstanding about the Hate rules in general. Guilds could easily do trash clears around Magi spawn if they wanted to, even before the Hate Mini rules were removed.

I don't see any rules that allow unguilded characters to stay on a mini spawn, while guilds are always required to leave. Just schedule raids and/or trash clears around the Magi spawn timer(s) if you really want to contest Magi.

The hate farm crew killed hate minis while their main guild was engaged on another raid mob. They also simply logged in at the entrance instead of porting up at least once. I WITNESSED IT WIT ME EYEBALLS.

Have you tried doing the same thing?:D Sounds like things are a bit loosey goosey. If you get embattled in laywerquest with the offenders, something may happen. If you record them logging in to hate against the rules while you do the same, you'll at least have evidence against the farm crew.

bbsmitz sent me a good document on the evidence against the farm crew so far.

I think there are options available if enough people really cared, even if it was just to spite the farm crews. But my feeling is most people don't care enough. Mage Epic is mostly a toy/trophy. Spending that time getting Vulak loot on a better class sounds like a better use of time.

Yeah socking fuzzy timers like hate must unlimited DKP. Fairly certain the drop rate is fucking hellishly wrong here on the way too rare side of things and the RMT crews just made it so much worse. Plane of Hate on P99 has always been a nonclassic shit show.


Let pretend that we wanted to revamp epic pieces and make them more accessible. We take reasonably common drops from highly contested raid bosses, Lochness Monsta, CT, Inny, VS and switch them to semi-raid encounters or spawnable 100% drop mobs. Overall with the intention to make these bottleneck items more accessible and common. That was successfully managed with every epic except the mage one, which for some fucking reason they made less common. You implemented it wrong and it's way too late to care about, but it's been one of the glaring errors of this project for years.

I'd be curious to see the data over the past year but iirc the staff is like a 20% drop off the Magi. Pretty sure the emerald is a lot lower percentage but since most minis can drop it it's still easier to get. Book is stupid rare.

1:5 for a raid zone isn't common, which it should be in line with the other epic changes in era. Hate should be printing 2-3 of those staves a week on a 72 hour timer and certainly far more emeralds.

Rioto is the discord sales bot name for the Hate farm crew which is Diddles/Kluwen and some other non-Castle folks. Castle competes with them.

The hate ench piece is a major bottleneck right now because no one wants to do hate. Probably even more than VD for most people, who is still a major botteneck due to LR sellers (lol).

I tried paying castle/well dwellers what they asked for to get the LR but communication was poor and it ended up not working out. I guess no one cares to sell 10-15k LRs on a 7min rot item when you're literally making millions from earth staves and SEOCs. Ended up hanging out at fountain and lucking out by getting one from GG who drafted hate last time.

I guess my point is I feel hate is in a fucked up state not only because of farmers but also because the outdated loot tables make it so that most people couldn't care less to go there. Too much trouble for generally little reward. Even if the farmers vanished I'm not sure how much traffic you'd see. The farmers have the most efficient way to go at it already.

Kinda sorta, not that I want to defend them but like, even if you recruit all hate farmer crews to get you an essence, still takes 3 weeks. You could go up with your guild every 8 hours and clean 1st floor but who wants to do that, seriously? Everyone would end up with small squads parked at fountain, it is the easiest way.

Aww man, wife I were bound at stairs like a year ago for a month(ish) getting her enc epic piece on BLUE. They had the vacate rules in place, which was awful as we constantly saw minis popping up that we couldn't even touch. Might need to make a trip back up just to see if we can get any of them down. Be a fun duo to try for sure!

Kinda sorta, not that I want to defend them but like, even if you recruit all hate farmer crews to get you an essence, still takes 3 weeks. You could go up with your guild every 8 hours and clean 1st floor but who wants to do that, seriously? Everyone would end up with small squads parked at fountain, it is the easiest way.

Not like VD, SF and everything that is worth something isn't already poopsocked anyway. Sucks but it isn't going away.

Yeah we had to bind a cleric, druid, and chanter at the stairs for her epic piece. The cleric was just there for the inevitable rezzes. But there is a couple of the mage folks nearby maestro first floor area. We were using Harmony and pulling mobs out from there until we got lucky. We even managed to get a lucky drop on the enc chest piece while doing the grind. Super fun, but difficult to setup for suresies!

Hate Robe for my enchanter was one of my favorite items. Even after I replaced it I still kept it in my bank. That and the Halo are such solid pieces.

The best part of all of this is that OP quit the game, came back, joined castle, and is spending 20+ hours socking minis thinking that he finally has a chance to get an earth staff...Until one finally drops and he realizes there are 30 other mages in his guild with more DKP and that he is in a 30+ year line to ever get one from his guild.
