Last played in 2011. Start again?

Hello. I am thinking about starting up a new character on Project1999, and am wondering about the current state of the servers and game compared to when I last played in 2011? Does anyone have any feedback?

It's gonna be top heavy, but you can still find lower level groups here and there running around. I know about a month ago there was a good batch of lower levels running around in Gfay.

The server population is split between Blue and Green, so neither server will feel quite as full/active as the pre-Green era. Play blue if you like soloing more. Play green if you like grouping more. Both servers are at the end of Velious post-Sleeper, so there is no difference in that regard. Red is still dead.

Green still has plenty of spots to solo in. Groups really congregate in a few zones:

-Kurn's Tower 12-20+
-Oasis 14-20+
-Unrest 12-30
-Mistmoore 20-40
-City of Mist 40-50
-Karnor's Castle 50-60
-Velketor's Labyrinth 50-60

Along with some outdoor zones like South Karana, Overthere, Lake of Ill Omen..

There are groups, but only very rarely in:
-Lower Guk
-Upper Guk
-Highkeep
-Solusek's Eye
-Nagafen's Lair
-Najena
-The Hole
-Crystal Caverns
-Droga
-Chardok
-Sebilis
-Charasis (Howling Stones)

And for the last few years , I haven't really seen a single group in:
-Cazic Thule
-Splitpaw
-Permafrost
-Runnyeye
-Kedge Keep
-Dalnir
-Nurga

Almost all of the places outside of the well-worn few zones up top are open for the taking, for the solo player, or for someone who is bringing a group somewhere.

This is true. There are currently 18 people on Red. I'd venture to say 99% of camps are open, and most raid mobs are up!

The people behind the servers took back that plan, without much explanation of why ... and now (years later) I think most of the player base wonders if/hopes they'll do what they originally said they would ... but no one really knows if they will.

Nobody can say what will happen, but they have just recently made changes to the timeline that would only take effect in the event of a new server. I just wouldn't hold my breath, don't miss out playing on Green waiting for Green 2.0.

Pet window works on green. Not sure when that was added back after they added it to blue from the huge outrage it caused.

Check out green. Still multiple raid guilds and leveling guilds. Unrest, mm, com, kc are the same leveling zones. Cost nothing to mess around with and check it out.
