Before wipe red should at least have some fun ;P

This will probably be too much work for devs for a server that only has around 30 peeps max so a non-starter.

>>

Armor slots info

In EverQuest: Project 1999, armor slots excluding weapons and jewelry are categorized into visible and non-visible items.

The visible armor slots include chest, legs, arms, feet, head, hands, and wrists (x2), totaling 9 slots.

The non-visible armor slots include back, waist, shoulders, face, neck, adding 5 more slots.

Therefore, there are 14 armor slots in total when excluding weapons and jewelry.

>>>

So my terrible idea is:

1) change so pvp kills cannot loot plat anymore

2) order 5 non-visible armor slots from worst to best slot ( I am guessing face has poor options whereas back has very good options like Cloak of Flames )

3) start of the first week - pvp kill can loot face - if in your range

4) At the end of every week - the top *class* in every range ( 56 range : 60 max / 52 min /// 52 range : 56 max / 48 min) etc wins armor that changed hands

there are 14 classes

everybody else will have an empty slot and devs lock that slot

5) Repeat until all 14 slots handled

6) Let peeps play for another month with their new toys then wipe

optional => statue of top 14 classes for 56 range => have the statues in starting city in red 2.0 = can click on it to see player's name, class, level that was, religion, etc

I was thinking Red should be permadeath, but have extraction zones where you can bring loot to other servers and it can be like arc raiders.

So you can try to get some loot and get to the extraction spots before someone kills you to take back to blue.

its been about 20 or so years since eqlive only had one pvp server
can you just not?
im sorry you got with a buncha other psychopathic predators in your youth and preyed upon randos that couldnt fight back but those days are done
and now that your nerves are deadened from your advanced age you dont have the reflexes to compete with kids from two or three generations newer than your own and you stray away from the newer games designed for player versus player content.

you shake your bottle of pills and complain but only to push back the thoughts that you became the prey

I can't speak for everyone, but I left BLUE for RED just so that camp claims/disputes would be fewer. I didn't even PvP, I just gated out. But the camps were open to be played instead of waiting in a queue.

Also the raid strats for small man crews were pretty nifty to see. The zergs you see on Blue are just uninteresting. Not everyone on RED was after PvP, lots of folks were just chilling and helping like on every other server.

When we DID die to PvP on Red, we got a rez about 30% of the time immediately and almost ALWAYS got feedback from the player on what we could have done better, those who like PvP don't want useless PvP'ers like me. I had a guy once give me the full rundown on the spell order I should be using for PvP as a necro, it was pretty enlightening.

Are there griefers? Yep, but the same can be said of any server we have here. I really only found 1 griefer on RED (Brickhouse in MM was a deleveled 60 with an anklesmasher). Everyone else wasn't griefing, although I swear Tomacco took pride in trying to find my groups.
