I personally remember hearing that Necros got a spectre pet, but I never actually saw it in-game and assumed it had to be a myth.

It's my opinion that every level 60 Necromancer having EoT would have been unheard of during Kunark/Velious. People were even complaining about it during Planes of Power.

If I was in charge of P99 I would make the spell so rare that it costs like 300K and only a couple of Necromancers on the server actually had the privilege of owning it.

I feel like most P99 players are out of touch with what real classic looked and felt like.

And no, Magicians weren't a joke class in the version of the game where charm was a meme lottery ticket.

TBH IDEK, but someone on Monsters and Memories told me that Necromancers always had tankier pets than Magicians and then linked me to Emissary of Thule and compared it to a level 57 Water Pet. I was like um, you do realize that just because an item existed doesn't mean it was accessible to most players, right? And then they told me it was one of the easiest spells to get because you can just buy it on P99 and I was like ... y'all do realize P99 servers in they current state is not an accurate representation of what EQ was like in 2001....

Also I was drunk when I made this thread. Had been drinking for 20+ hours if that explains anything.

The threads I read made it sound like it's good for soloing some stuff in Sebilis and PoM and I seen people on Youtube use it to easy farm Droga, sol B, Guk etc.

On my server, top necros in raiding guilds had them, along with their epic. NBG and loot council was very powerful and prevalent back then. I never saw any exp necro with it, regardless whether they played 16 hours a day or not. The period of description was between start of Velious to end of Velious. EoT wasn't very relevant during PoP from what I remember, probably dire charm pets had more hp and dps, and fear wasn't an issue on stuff they were killing with it.

I played a wizard and wanted sunstrike, but wasn't willing to pay 40k for it in luclin era and then it became obsolete especially with PoP and the lvl cap increase. On this server however, all kunark dragons, including VP, are cleared regularly, and the lvl 60 kunark spells drop fairly frequently in VP.

I had to camp Gwurms with friends to get sunstrike. It was that rare, never seen it for sale. They go for 400pp now.

Seen a couple of EOT necros but not only the server wasn't as old, I don't think people farmed the mobs who dropped it all that much which made it even rarer. Probably mostly dropped in guild groups/raids so it wouldn't see EC.

I'm not sure what the point of this post is. Old server will have more junk dropped.
