I'm trying to find a mapping program where it has persistent manually added markers. For example, I am mapping my location on the map, I die and I want to mark where my corpse is. Is there a program that will do that? I'm usually running nparse, but that doesn't have this feature because when you die it reloads the map and all markers disappear. Very frustrating because I'm still new to getting back into the game after almost 20 years.

Zine maps? Zile? I can’t remember the name but there is an app that does that.

Not quite what you are looking for, but you could make a temporary "loc link" in the wiki.

Basically you would just edit any page, and add the following to it (replacing the zone name and loc with where you died):

{{Loc | Stonebrunt Mountains | 500, 500}}

and then hit Preview.

You'll see your link on the preview of the page, and when you click it, it will show you exactly where your corpse is on a map. You can leave the tab up as long as you want, and when you're done you can just close it (without saving the change).

I have the exact thing you're looking for, its the most powerful program on the planet (atleast for now). Its called the.....Human Brain

Imagine needing overlays in 2025 for a game developed in 1999 lulz.

Zliz EQ Maps is the one but it looks like its site has been nuked https://www.zlizeq.com/ZlizEQ_Projects-ZlizEQMap

Not sure if the original is hosted anywhere else. All I could find was a github where someone did some TAKP work on it. Ive not tried this one but it should work
https://github.com/hada79/ZlizEQMap

In the SET WP box is where you place coords and it'll put a marker on the map

As I said, I'm back to the game after almost 20 years of not playing. Most of the time it's hard to get your bearings, especially in a zone like Steamfont. I'm sure after getting used to it again, things get easier.
I'm not sure why the age of the game makes any difference whatsoever, but keep trying to feel superior, one day you might get there. "lulz"

I mean the old school way was to spam /loc as you were dying so you could have a track of where your corpse is--

But with nparse, if you turn /log off, it will not wipe your markers
