View Full Version : <Masters of Death> - A thought experiment

Imagine a world where all content is trivialized with standard min-max meta. You long for something fun, challenging... Out of the ashes emerges <Masters of Death>. The guild's only requirement? The ability to Feign Death!
Unless I'm wrong, this would be:
Shadowknight
Necromancer
Monk
Shaman (maybe... if sky ring obtained)(anything else?)
Could any meaningful content be achieved by these takers of the eternal breath? I'm curious.
-Can Trucidation be useful for a necromancer against raid mobs along with other taps?-If melee DPS simply FD when low HP, can rest of dps 'battle bind wound' to restore HP along with necro patch heals?-Is there a way to cheese rotating riposte disciplines against raid mobs when everyone can FD?-is an HT zerg even a thing with how often it is resisted?
Just a fun inquiry, nothing i'm taking seriously. Just bored and the thought crossed my mind. Curious if people see particular strats with this that can be useful even though we know something like this will never happen.

Not viable but it would be funny when a competing raid force starts crowding you everyone just FDs and they get wiped, then you stand up and continue on.

Cool concept for sniping random old world mobs and the occasional kunark named. That’s about it.

Pretty much this. Not sure if they would be a VP force or what not. Can probably do fear golems, hate minis, PoA, etc. wouldn't doubt they could drop trakanon or any 32k mob quick.
I think if they ever fixed life tap and HT resistance to make it more classic it would be interesting. I seem to recall HT bind rushing was a thing back in the day, there was some SK that soloed Lhranc for his epic this way.

Clerics (and Paladins) can take someone back from death itself ...but they aren't masters?
Letting them in would open up more options.

VP is probably the most viable high end content they could do since its just a DPS race. Enough monks and necro pets can get it done, just gotta zerg those 32k dragos

But only necromancers can reincarnate someone using the soul of another dead.

The point was this group is meant to master death not to master reincarnation. Paladins and Clerics seek to eradicate death, these classes embrace it as a way of life!

In other words being able to take a tennis ball out of the hand of the world's #1 tennis player is a big difference from being a Tennis master

It's more like making the tennis master lose the game he just won. If that isn't mastery ...
