:D Hey everyone. I started my first account 2 weeks ago now. I'm a High Elf Cleric and currently level 9.
I have...conflicting thoughts on Project 1999. It's tough! I've never played Everquest before and the difficulty just getting here was insane. But honestly it's how friendly everyone is that has kept me playing. Currently hoping to get into Crushbone and start farming the orcs there for better loot or my first rarer drops.
Cool game n all :)
Yeah EQ is great in many ways but the friendly community is certainly my favorite aspect. I just started up again on green myself and i'm lvl 10. Right now im in unrest hunting yard trash. if you see me on feel free to hmu and we will start a group and grind some lvls :)

The funny thing is the difficulty gets much easier and the people get much harder the more you play :)
Pro Tip - The crushbone belts and shoulderpads are valuable. I would recommend filling your inventory with backpacks and looting as many belts and pads as you can and look for opportunities to sell them.
This can help with some initial funds that you can use to fill out your spell book and get some minor gear.
Welcome to EQ and P99 op! The roads will be very hard at times. Stay strong my friend
Everybody loves on a good cleric

The early levels are notoriously rough, but stick with it! Usually class kits (spell variety) start getting filled out around level 20ish and you get enough mana to cast more than 4 spells without going out of mana.

Remember OP you're an undead wizard with some efficient undead nukes. If you find you're struggling for a group with the orcs there might be some skeleton action in Steamfont/DC/Unrest to keep you entertained :)

That's a great idea! I was saving the belts for leveling, but I never considered using them to sell. That's a great idea.

The levels where you suck and all coppers and pelts are worth dealing with are the levels where the game functions at its peak. Enjoy!

Yah - for melee starting out - you can kind of find gear as you progress and that's all you need.
But for casters, spells get expensive really quick. Prioritize spells over gear - and get that plat any way you can. (Selling pelts, belts, bone chips, etc)

The difficulty is what makes the gains feel glorious.
