Do you consider Runnyeye classic?

I just got attacked by a guard in Nektulos forest for having a werewolf illusion on (lol need strength to carry enough coins to buy a Tinkerer's bag). But anyways, I instantly had flash backs from farming the same guards on my Human Monk back "in the day" because I could whoop they tailfeathers regardless of weight, and those bronze swords sold for at 1 plat, maybe even 2.

But then I had a flashback and remembered ultimately ending up in Runnyeye on my Monk for the same reason. I could beat the heck out of Goblins all day everyday, and never die. And I could easily vendor and bank in zone. But.... only if sneak worked. I remember getting super frustrated waiting on sneak to work so I could actually vendor/bank to the point where I remember FD vendoring/banking also being a thing.

Meanwhile on P99 I just bank NBD even if a banker scowls at me. In literally any zone. Not even hating, just saying, y'all will never convince me it was classic. Like I have so many deep fond memories of mashing sneak over and over again so I can bank. Half the time was faster just to FD.

Lots of factions to do things are wrong. Like guild trainers were quite fussy about who they’d teach skills to.

And I swear for bards it was only a single GM in freeport which taught dual wielding.

I don’t doubt you are being honest, but I do wonder if you recall blackened iron being commonly sold 😹 I remember the boots in particular being sought after because they were magic and you could kick wisps and ghouls

I remember RE being fairly popular before it got revamped. Post revamp the mobs got too high level compared to misty thicket and there was plenty of better armour available at the point in timeline when blackened alloy got added.

Rivervale got kind of shafted with the hate release and RE revamp. The area was no longer self sufficient for levelling and your halfling now had to head out into the wider world to get beyond level ten.

Runnyeye is one of a small handful of classic zones that I literally never went to once on live. The first time I checked it out was on p99, and even though in my brain I know it's a classic zone, it feels like some oddball custom content because I have no memories of it from live.

I remember getting as far as the gorge of kind xorbb on my barb sham and getting freaked out by the minos and evil eyes and never went back.

Other zones I never went to on live and only experienced for the first time on p99: Najena, warrens, stonebrunt mountains, and believe it or not crushbone. Us barbs from the north didn't fuck around with all that elf shit.

Actually I didn't even set foot on faydwer until early 30s cause I kept hearing stories about the good xp in mistmoore.

OG Runnyeye was buggy as hell. Trains would just come for no reason. Once they revamed it , it was playable but nobody went to original RE.
