How to make an account to edit the wiki?

Sorry if this is a stupid question answered in an obvious place somewhere.

I have recently come across many wiki entries that could use some updating/fleshing out, and when I go to try to make an account to attempt to edit the wiki, it says I do not have permissions.

Any tips?

Funny, someone just PMed me about this. As I told them ...

So, a little backstory. There was a spammer who "attacked" our wiki by filling it with spam articles (unrelated to EQ) about various spam products. The spammer was relentless, making over a thousand of these false pages (I know because I had to clean up most of them, page by page ... if I ever meet that asshole ...).

Normal wikis would simply add a "CAPTCHA" to the signup page, to prevent losers like this from signing up in an automated way ... but our wiki uses an older version of the software, and has tons of customizations built for it, so we can't upgrade it.

I offered (to both Rogean and Rahvin, the wiki administrator) to write a custom CAPTCHA, but they didn't take me up on that offer. Instead, Rahvin disabled all new wiki signups.


At this point, the assumption is that Rogean or Rahvin will someday write a custom CAPTCHA, so you could just wait for that day. However, Rahvin doesn't even play here anymore, so he's not exactly motivated to do so quickly.

My advice would be to PM either Rogean or Rahvin (or both) and ask them. If nothing else, it will remind them this needs to be addressed (either by them, or if they don't want to, hopefully it will motivate them to take my offer).
