There's a flaw in your reasoning: the Daybreak agreement preceded Green's release. That means P99 had two servers, they signed the (secret) deal with Daybreak ... and then they went and released a brand new server.

Plus, even if that secret agreement did cap P99 at three servers, it wouldn't be a relevant limit. The staff only needs two servers to realize their vision: a "Classic" "recycle" server (ie. Green) that lasts 3-4 years and then resets, and a "Classic+" server (ie. Blue) where all the recycle server players get sent every time it recycles. Both servers already exist.

Now, none of us knows what's in the agreement ... but we do know R&N signed it to safeguard the future of P99 ... not to kill it. So, it seems far, far more likely that the lack of a new Gold/Green 2.0 server falls entirely on Rogean and Nilbog's shoulders, not Daybreak's.

(And in their defense, new servers are a lot of work; they discovered just how much when they launched Green.)

they really don't care, their game is free to play too, if people really wanted to play it they would. Fan servers keep the brand recognition from dying out, and all most us have at least bought a krono in the last few years.

Imagine actually reading the posts from the Devs and the bug/exploit section of the forums and actually understanding what the Devs are focused on and therefore the likely checkpoints they need to achieve to release a new server. Surely that would take all the fun out of another weekly speculation thread.

Then those peeps who arent interested in classic difficulty are not the target of this server.

What we are forgetting is this is rog/bogs sandpit. They dont not care what we think, it's that they just want bug reports/ proof of anomalies in the current servers. To make their vision of the museum piece that is P1999.

If this is an archive quality game, this project, allowing players to move around the exhibits in the museum seems righteous.

One should even be able to visit the Laboratory of Grotesqueries and move to Red.

We are no longer playing for anything real here. This isn't a business, it isn't "still being finished." It is finished.

So let us move around in it, if a new server is not happening.
