What are the best items that rot with any regularity here on green? Thinking about RPing a Magpie

Typically they don't. They go for 1 dkp to a person's 6th alt.

I feel like KC has some good stuff that rots often. For instance, just about anyone can get a free https://wiki.project1999.com/Supple_Scale_Armband, which is pretty solid for a lower level caster.

+1 to these items and the zone of KC for rots.

Polished Steel Dirk 8/24 used to rot from people camping the Spectres in the Qeynos Aqueducts, but I'm the only person I've seen there in a while.

If Najena were active, Trazdon drops a good no-drop necro hat.

I bet good items can rot in Chardok, and if you faction up, you can waltz around in there snagging them like a magpie.

Boots of Dark Passage (SK only) sometimes rot in Kael, esp during raids.

Happy gathering!

There is a decent(?) sword (for paladins?) that can rot in skyfire.

The 20ish% haste belts rot a lot in sky.

Also a fan of the Jarsath Scale Armor (https://wiki.project1999.com/Jarsath_Scale_Armor) set in KC.

The best items that routinely rot would be the lower dogs weapons in velks.

And on occasion the worst VP drops. Exe blade etc.

Not a lot rots because people have 1-20 alts to gear. Leaving a corpse leaves a time of death for your competition to find. Clearing corpses prevents people looting shit, so it's very common to destroy rotting items rather than leave it to be looted by some muppet....If you dont do this you condition the muppets to loot anything thats been sitting around for 5 mins.

It isn't a big logic stretch for some dude to see a shitty item rotting to then assume a good item is fair game when all manner of comms or logistics things could be delaying getting it looted by the right person. So we clear corpses.

To build on this, the etiquette (and I believe even the server play nice policy/rule) is to get permission to those that got the credit for the kill in order to loot anything off that body. As I understand there are punative consequences to ninja looting. Obviously punishment only comes to instances which are reported, so you can get away with the odd overlooked bonechip, but anything of any potential value you want to collaborate with the killers before looting.

Not all the time, but some of the time....if you have an SK alt, park them up :)

There's a pretty good bracer on the shardwurm matriarch that rots all the time.

There's also some good swords down at the bottom of kaesora that rot consistently.

Oh, and a nice shadowknight sword that rots all the time in qeynos catacombs. part of the qeynos badge of honor quest.

EDIT:

Wouldn't that be contradicting against the concept of the 5 minutes in the first place?
Theoretically speaking, you're suggesting that nobody has any right to loot anything they didn't kill, but they can after the 5 minute mark. It's pretty shitty to wait on that specific 5 minute mark, but lets say the corpse has less than 2 minutes left, would you still say that it's a non-loot affair?

The 5 minute mark exists specifically to counter-rotting, as a game mechanic.

Different people made the game mechanics to the play nice policy, I don’t know why you question me on the sensibilities of it /shrug.

just seems kinda.... dumb overall.
Kinda like telling people that there's going to be cake, and then telling them to not eat the cake until they can bake the cake.

to be clear, I've always had a problem with the PnP, as it gives cover to the criminal element and forces the victims to justify themselves instead.
open PvP is the true counter-balance.

mechanics are already in the game to give the game balance, they just aren't being utilized in favor of a utopia of ideals that doesn't work and favors crime but sure as heck gives the GMs more "freetime".

The thing is, we have an all volunteer-GM force.

Everyone knows how SOE did their customer service (https://wiki.project1999.com/Kunark_Era_Customer_Service_Guidelines), but unless you can pay for the people to make that service a reality, we're stuck with P99's PNP.

Stop playing with the bot.
Cuz bot boys owner cant hide its botness it keeps temporarily taking the reigns to make sure it keeps engagingwith humans to learn, im sorry gather myriad data points to make a statistically correct response.

I agree, he's a strange cat, and I do think he's rude when he uses us as guinea pigs for his bot. But ... there are a lot of very rude people on this forum :D

As a result, it takes a lot to make me not engage with someone who (at least momentarily) is acting reasonably.
