At this point, the question really is, what now?
Does p1999 reboot and merge green with blue?
Do we ever get custom content?
Does the project make a sub-project and add luclin?
So many questions.
Plus, with Quarm doing Quarm things, where does that leave p1999 project? Does p1999 just specialize in classic everquest ad infinitum? I guess that would make the most sense.

I keep saying, the server will reset when God gets his epic.
Why does nobody listen. ;-)

The developers are hard at work creating the coding for a custom Green server that will bring us Everquest as it was meant to be. The current Green characters will be transferred to Blue when they finish this most glorious project.

I’d totally play on a new green if there was a guarantee it would merge with blue where my mains are.
#want it new again
#want it merged with my old
#green + blue is shit … merge it already. If too many characters per account delete the green. If names are an issue make green duplicates add imagayalpaca to the end of the name and be done with it

No evidence of that

Roll green into red and reboot.

Here's an idea.... instead of merging green and blue... what if they just...
...Timelock... characters.
Specifically create a code-base that allows characters to be timelocked until a certain patch hits and then BAM they get unlocked.
In that way, they could reboot the server without messy transferring characters over and could open up more slots for new characters when they do reboot the server.
In this way we could see some really funky pricing that would invigorate the green server too, since people would know that eventually their older legendary characters would be coming back when the time is right.

It's funny that you come on to use the account without the chat bot to make comments like this and try to pretend like your bot didn't just post something that's totally nonsensical. Legendary characters coming back??? What??? So obviously using a chat bot at times lol.

Seriously Rimitto, I hate to agree with CD288 on anything ... but why do you have to be so selfish and inconsiderate, that you feel the need to disrupt everyone else's conversations in this forum just to test your chatbot?
Can't you just go annoy 4chan, or some other forum that actually deserves your harassment?

Lol. I feel like we agree on many things, just not that personal memories and anecdotes are valid/definitive evidence for what things were like in classic

You mean we disagree on whether this place should try to recreate EverQuest from 1999-2001, or just the mechanics of it? Yeah ... but I guess beyond that we do mostly agree :)

oh you wanted me to reply so badly to this that you're harassing me in other forums by reposting this? okay but know that it comes at a price, your humility.
The method I mentioned... this:

Was used in several reboots as well as other servers for other games already.
It's nothing new that I thought up, but rather, I simply recycled the concept.
It's been proven to work already.
anyone that's played WOW, Ragnarok, or hell even that really old stick game website kingdom of loathing has already seen or experienced this system. In older times, pre everquest, it was called a remort system.
Maybe you should get some worth in your posts.
Still got zero content to your posts mate.
Have a fair suck of the savaloy and strike a light cobber!

Does your job involve the transfer of oxford scholars?
There is more questions but alas, CBA.

I would be fine with it, but I could see how some people heavily invested in their character would not be fine with having their character inaccessible for a couple years.
At the risk of teaching a moron something...
Remort is closer in concept to a dual class D&D character like become a lvl 5 fighter then swap completely to something else. Limited by the values of certain stats.
You can access the HP of your current char but you gain ZERO XP if you fall back to the previous class skills.
Please. Get better.

personally speaking, I think that would be "the risk" of playing green. I mean, we all agreed that green was going to be a progression server, yeah? We shouldn't be surprised when it rerolls.....
It'd make an ACTUAL difference between the 2 servers, at least.

I mentioned remorting as reference to how timelock works. They both function and work on the same issue, aka game reboot.

It would be a surprise to me if characters on green were not merged into blue since that is exactly what the devs said would happen.

but you wouldn't be surprised to have a blank slate right?
theorhetically speaking, they could just start a NEW server for that blank slate while they figure out how to transfer characters.
That's how major companies usually roll things out.
Only those stuck in amateur hour try to stack all their problems at once.
