Auction Zones from classic era

So back in the day, certain servers had different auction zones iirc. I played on Xegony and everyone auctioned in GFay and hung out at spires and near the bank. I believe Veeshan server the auction zone was North Freeport? I could be wrong or EC just like here.

I think most servers it was EC but are there any other zones yall saw that people auctioned in that wasn't EC Tunnel?

My play server was Terris Thule which was the tunnel, but yeah GFay and NFP were in second place in frequency. Think there were one or two where it was Nek which was kind of odd.

I always thought Toxx might be a good spot if they had launched with Paineel in the game originally. It's a small zone with both Wizard and Druid ports and you'd have two cities for banking right there.

I played on Vallon Zek (Teams PvP).

The 3 light race teams used to use GFay (near bank), but it did mean you still risked being attacked.
Back in the day when you used to have to type out all the items and stats, or 'show' people in trade window the items you were selling.

EC tunnel makes a lot of sense as it's the converging point between all races and works well for good and evil and no mobs spawn there. Not sure how Gfay works for evil characters since there is no where they can bank.

My favorite spot was Mith Marr NFP area... Every house, room, roof, location was crowded to the gills. It's just a dang ugly, empty zone on P99 :(

Here is an auction zone story for you! We’d run auctions for confiscated items in the CSHome zone to be transferred on to our personal characters. The server was so corrupt we didn’t need to worry about getting caught.

Not sure how that's ideal for evil characters as most evils start off kos there.

Not sure how Gfay works for evil characters since there is no where they can bank.

If you have invis, you can go along the outside of the bank building, out of los and click the banker through the window with no aggro (similar to how kos bank it in nfp)

I remember it being Gfay on Drinal server.

I've always thought that either side of the zone line between West Freeport and East Commonlands would be the best place for a server auction area. Closer to the North Freeport bank for good and neutral aligned, while also being about the same distance to Neriak for evil characters to bank. Also basically no wandering mobs or guards, aside from a few deathfist pawns and decaying skellies. No more aggroing one of the damned wandering air elementals when you're just trying to shop!

Prexus was ec tunnel but a few tried to make gfay /auc as well. I was a noob in jan 2000 and the /ooc was spamming away. Didnt know how to filter.
Missed a bunch of msgs re lfg. Made me a better solo druid I spose.
Luckily gfay /auc didnt stick.

Was GFay (gBay) on Tunare server and the spam was intense. Would sit at BBM zl for a minute or two, then zone out and scroll back thru all the crap looking for items of interest.

gfay on sol ro and sz (for goods at least) as well. CT was EC with some action at NFP from time to time.

In general any zone with a bank was fair game for a little auction spam here and there. I think I scored some sweet deals in Thurg a few times.

Originally I remember Sol Ro being in Gfay and after the split to Ayonae Ro it was EC.
