What's the deal with that human necro who seems to just lay there in Rivervale making the place look untidy, causing an obstruction, creating zone lag and using up server bandwidth? It has a name referencing charaters from the Trailerpark Boys.
And who's the dude on top of the wall near Neriak zone in EC? Is it a data collection bot spying on everybody's auctions to put into an external 3rd party web site?
Here's an idea...make AFK areas like there are bind areas. These AFK areas should be away from entrances and passageways etc. Anybody AFK for hours, days, weeks outside those areas gets kicked. EC should be a non-AFK area to stop bots collecting auction data.

I'm at my computer all the time when I play EQ unless I need a quick AFK. I don't lay in the fucking floor for months or have a bot parked in EC and I don't go AFK in a camp for days on end.
Okay, how about this for an idea...
If you are inactive for a certain amount of time the AFK tag automatically appears and you stop logging data. And a command which tells you how long the player has been AFK for, or the amount of time they have been AFK is part of the player's name while they are AFK. The player's name also turns red while AFK.

Being AFK for an unreasonable length of time is disruptive and if left unchecked is open to abuse by botters. You can't tell me a L4 Necro on a wall in EC that's been there for months in the same spot is reasonable. It's unfair to the players who play the game the right way. Players shouldn't have the right to AFK like that, unless it's in AFK areas out of the way and not in an auction zone.

I believe most afk ppl are cheaters or ppl logged on when they should not be (at work).
Maybe 1 in 10 are legitimately afk at home doing chores or napping in old age.
Just my personal beliefs. So I really dislike afk ppl aswell. Even if one of my friends would afk hours at a time on red leveling his warrior. Was like the only exception I ever met. And they played multiple servers tho so that falls into a grey morally distasteful butt not quite cheater area for me.
It's worse on LIVE servers, there's this one server where they all stand in the same place in PoK and go AFK all night instead of logging out causing massive lag in the area. EQ def needs an auomated kick for the zone disruptors and bots. It's always the rotten few that ruin it for the rest.

Yeah, well I complained about it in the zone and a player told me that kicking them would be like banning americans from eating cheeseburgers or owning guns....in other words, they have somehow been led to belief it's their god given right to disrupt a zone. A bit like those protesters who have been led to believe it's their god given right to disrupt the streets.

Nobody said anything about quick AFK. Going for a brief AFK to grab a snack or have a stretch or whatever is reasonable. Laying on the floor for months in Rivervale is not reasonable neither is a bot collecting auction data neither is going AFK in a camp all night and all day.

Yeah man. Marx was pretty anti-semitic like a lot of europeans at the time and was also dismissive of country bunpkins. It's important to acknoowledge this on the left, because bullshit and spin are tools of the right
