Accept token amount from an alt that will wear it or vendor.

Velious is out now and the edge that vanilla items offer over random trash armour characters will loot as they level up is tiny.

Why are you so upset? People buying those items will often be noobs or have no plat. When they are struggling to buy 4pp spells that 15pp savings seems like a lot. You sound like a hypocrite to someone who is p99 rich. Selling items worth so little while complaining about haggling lol. Your a loser

Back in the day when first getting started on blue, fair money could be made by scooping up certain piddly diddly items in the tunnel for 50-200pp, things that weren't very valuable but also were just a little bit rare to actually show up in the tunnel. It's how I raised funds to outfit my brother and I's first duo.

I had so little platinum at the time that it was worth it to try to pay 100 for something someone was selling for 200, like a Siryn Hair Hood. It was usually easy to tell someone had no idea what it was worth or just didn't care much about that little platinum. What's the worst they could say, no? Then I'd wait a couple hours or days and sell it for 500. Repeat over dozens of items and a few hours here and there, was enough to outfit our characters half decently while we leveled.

Fast forward to having a hoard of platinum, I'd just post my piddly diddly items and accept whatever someone offered for them, hoping it was someone who was doing the same thing I did. 100x better than just handing it to some fresh noob unsolicited. Bigger dopamine hit for the recipient thinking they "won".

When I'm asking for an item for a specific price and someone tries to squeeze an extra 50 or 100pp out of me, I'll just say noty on principle. I don't like to play the nickel and dime game.

anyone know why some hard to sell mid-level items vendor for like 80-90p, but others for like 4p?

How is the price a vendor offers you for a droppable piece of gear determined?

Of course, then they will just be non-broke stoned idiots. Six of one, etc. So, we still got a problem, which Chortles wisely is warning us about here.

But the specific kind of empty pocketed loser stuff tends to dwindle in the cannabis community in direct proportion to how cheap the bud is.That kind of shit goes away in a reverse fishery situation, eventually.

I’ll often haggle just for the sake of haggling. Very few, if any, games have this element when buying items in game and so I milk the experience for all its worth. I don’t care about saving the plat as much as enjoying the back and forth negatioations.

TFW you wanna buy a Ring of Shadow and they're like "How Much ya offering??"

Probably 200p because there's literally dozens for sale right now for the same price. Not sure if you were hoping to find the one guy willing to pay 210p for it.

Gustoo
05-08-2023, 01:33 AM
If you’re selling a 100pp item you’ve got time to haggle down to 80pp or respond to those offers.

Some lowbies will never grind to 60 and just make 20pp profit margin reselling those gator sleeves. It’s how it was in olden times.

I agree the manual aspect of bartering in this game is the best. I personally miss hand written lists and “come to torch to see bags” but item linking is pretty hard to get rid of I guess. Nilbog prolly working on it.

I do that shit all the time. I always snag 20-50p items, maybe 100p if they're weapons and give them away. I just started a rogue and had a bunch if stuff. As I'm leveling with people and I find a competent player in rags, I give them an item or two. Its nice, it feels good, and they appreciate it. Community ftw

I think it depends on their level. If it seems like they might be a legit low level noob that’s probably all they have

But I really can’t justify a high lev haggling over 50p or something. I have some of the shittiest pp making methods around and even I can make that in a few minutes, why bother hassling someone over it? Unless maybe they were pricing it over average

I hate selling so I tended to price my hand me downs I wanted to sell at 50% of asking. Always got instant tells and in almost every situation, the buyer then immediately began auctioning the item at regular price

I’m thinking that’s fine if you want to stand there all day, flip away…

then i go sell the 150p item to vendor for 5p

Props for just giving stuff away sometimes

I only sell stuff at 50% of wikki value because I hate the idea of standing around selling as much as I hate the idea of standing around camping items. Not because I’m being nice

I’ve never given anything away, because I’m a greedy bastard. I’ll go sell it to a vendor before I give it away. Even if it’s for only 1pp, when every next upgrade costs upward of 15k, every pp helps

But I do respect people willing to give stuff away, especially nice stuff

If you're selling a 50p item, and someone asks for a discount with your immediate reply not being "You can just have them dude."

You're the broke one. It's 2023. People have given away millions on this server.
