Do you ever log into the character selection screen and just stare at it?

The idea of playing is fun, but when I actually log into play I just don't feel like playing any of my characters. Looks like it's time to take a break from EQ again :)

P.S. I have bard and druid gear on Red99 if anyone wants their stuff. Nothing too fancy, but would at least get a person started.

I have never played bg2 and keep telling myself I want to do a full playthrough-export (this time of a solo FMT character) from BG1 into siege of dragonspear then into BG2

But I’ve played bg1 so many times I end up burning out. My co-worker is like “just play bg2 then!” And I’m like “noooo, must xfer char”

I’m also experimenting with the broken ranger/druid multi class. Best of both worlds, cleric and druid spells, still dual wield, etc. Supposed to be s-tier

I really found this class guide informative, but yea it’s very much a power gaming explanation. I’ve listened to the entire thing (at the gym, sadly lol)

If you want extra challenge, there’s an incredibly popular difficulty mod I sometimes run on BG1 called SCS you could try too

Solo wild mage would be tough, hopefully you also using NPC’s. Once you get web spell things get much easier to manage I feel

I've been doing a BG1 playthrough with a buddy recently too. Probably 1 more session and we'll finish the main story, then on to BG1.5, or whatever the game is between 1 and 2. I've never played past 1 before. Looking forward to it.

IDK. My friend that I'm playing with has played all of these like 10 times over. That's just how he described it to me. I'm not sure what the title is.

We've done Tales of the Sword coast to completion and are moving in on the final confrontation in the base game. He said there is one other whole DLC/side game separate from BG1 that we do next before starting BG2.

Seige of dragonspear is the 1.5. I’ve played through 3/4 of it. Pretty engaging gameplay, not a great story. Can’t hold a candle to BG1 but it was an entirely different company

But if you set it on the harder difficulty I believe with the SCS mod it is borderline impossible, in a good way

I remember my OP powergamed chars plowed through BG1 SCS on hard but then got completely cockblocked at some part of SoD with the mod on highest difficulty, so bad I quit the game

i have toons camped at like wc ring, kc entrance, hammer hill, when im bored i camp around and buff people, or i look for lower level players grinding xp, hunt them down and buff them

until a new P99 PVE server launches, when i really wanna play EQ these days its TAKP, they really have an incredible server, client, and community.

Why is your DEX and STA so poor? Handicapping for extra challenge early on? :cool:

If not, Wis and Cha are fairly worthless for a mage I believe in BG unless you make them more valuable with a mod. You can put a bard on the team or use another NPC mage with decent wis/int if you like high lore auto-identifies without having to rest over and over to ID stuff. :cool:

High WIS will someday have good value if you plan to level this char obscenely high in BGII for the wish spells. :cool:

However for most people, 18/19 Dex and 16 Con are very helpful for all the non-warrior classes in Bg1 :cool:

His smug arrogance and insults are also very entertaining with the much respected and well-loved BG1npc project Mod which I would call the best Bg1 mod I have played if you don't mind NPCs being as chatty as the NPCs in BG2 and more modern team-based RPGs. (Note: time between major banters in real time is pretty adjustable during the install so you arent bombarded with the new banters too often.

It also adds some nice little quests to many of the original "Bioware" aka Vanilla joinable NPCs :cool:

I feel the new writing for Kivan, Xan, Xzar, Montaron, Edwin, and Coran were especially well done but I had no big complaints about any of the fan-made additions that I can remember. If you give this mod a try, be sure to install the music pack for the new banters for even more good tone/flavour(For example, Kivan the Chaotic good ranger was given a nice tune from Kill Bill when his banters come up.) :cool:

Yes yes... fan made additions can be considered notoriously bad by many and I have played some janky ones with pretty bad or quite silly writing. But in all honesty I would call the writing of Bg1Npc Project actually superior to some of the new official BeamDog characters' writing added to the Enhanced Edition of the game. ;)
