Its not classic.
And most of the ppl doing it don't know how to do it well/right on both servers they are bad at charming and only get away with it because its unclassic and easymode and they still fail at it and make what could just be an easy consistent exp sessh frustrating and *autistic *obsessive compulsive with a side of self harm when people don't have things go their way exactly buff/wise.
I rarely step out with negativity these days and say people don't deserve something. Butt the vast majority of people don't deserve charm.

Also I have nothing against autism and feel deeply for ppl with this disorder or neurodivergence or whatever. However, I honestly can't fathom a better word to describe the behavior of certain types of players.
It's ok to be this way, you are sorely missing out on some chill and relaxing EQ time tho !

Had another group with these same ppl. We didn't charm and made great progress while not charming.
P.s. warriors > enchanters.
The haste was nice tho!

It’s funny, I don’t really know a better way to describe those behaviour either, just being obsessive over little things that don’t rly matter to everyone else and throwing a fit over it constantly, maybe OCD works. I also tend to worry about having charmers in the group cuz it really does increase the amount of things to complain about greatly, simpler is generally better unless people are really good at handling their own pets

I'd like to see other classes get charm, like rogues being able to use their cunning to charm, or bards using songs to charm, or even clerics charming people with their nobility, you know, classes that don't have charm normally.

Personally, I don't think the difference is that great on P99 vs. original EQ. I just think more people are willing to do it, and the understanding of it is better now.
Most enchanters were "bad" at it on live, and grouped w/o charming. The ones that are "bad" at it here represent the majority of what was on live back in the day.
