Wizard "Spiral" Spells

My wizard hit 40 recently, and I have been wondering what all the spells do.

The "spiral" line of spells (Fire Spiral of Al'Kabor, Shock Spiral of Al'Kabor, Force Spiral of Al'Kabor..) seems like targeted AEs.

I always thought they were a Conical AE - so i started playing around with the spell.

(i think via testing) that the Spiral spells currently work how the "quad ae" line of spells works (Pillar of Fire, Column of Lightning, Circle of Force, etc.), or so I think.

I found some evidence that they might should hit up to 5 targets, and thought it was really interesting because the Spiral line of spells seems to be pretty useless.

We don't play the game the way the devs intended. As such, the entire al'kabor line is rendered pretty much useless:

I have killed spirocs in semi decent groupable kunark gear with the spiral line 5-6 at a time tho the spell only does hit 5

the knockback is challenging a bit

it's useless in that it's more effort than worth it to get value out of it

you can still also use kabors in a pinch to quickly kill a quad when u don't have the appropriate quad/circle spell

Thanks to the large radius it pulls an entire camp of mobs?

Wizards got did dirty on live thanks to early nerfs. I read all aoe were meant to be unlimited targets. Also their duration stuns lasted 5-8 secs.

if kabors was a low agro clicky targeted ae spell stun with a higher mob cap with some low dmg it mighta been fun ) especially as a pulling tool or something

we could have had a line of wizard only staffs we crafted :p
