Was surprised to hear someone mention this was healing for 90 and getting hit by the non-cleric healing penalty. The singing steel definitely healed for 100. Here's some evidence.

This eqdiva archive from 2001 is only recorded in the preview mode but you can still see the amount and the date.

https://search.eqarchives.org/search/?view=preview&q=id%3A%22file%3A%2F%2F%2Fhome%2Fdsanftenberg%2Feq-archives%2Fwebsites%2Fwww.eqdiva.com%2F20010822230 142%2Farmor%2Fdefault.asp_id%3D10%22

These sources span from early 2000 to late 2001, which both pre-dates and extends beyond the time frame as the sources referenced in the old post (https://www.project1999.com/forums/showthread.php?p=3093713) that had all other breastplates reduced to 90 (https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=2055&p=2#m99620204689470), which confirms that it always was 100 for bards.

Bards were on their own very unique spellcasting system, which is why their items also could be used while meleeing, moving, etc.
They were exempt from the 10% penalty because it would have affected their healing line of songs.
So this one should not have been affected by the changes.

I will second this post. I vividly remember it being 100.

Additionally, the invigorate heal has a healing message (see https://wiki.project1999.com/Patch_Notes#October_31.2C_2001 & http://www.tski.co.jp/baldio/patch/20011107.html) in chat with how much hp it healed you for.

You now see the number of hit points you are healed, and you also now see how many hit points you heal when healing others.

?Here's a simple request that a lot of bards (I think, I know I certainly would) appreciate:
understanding. So often when new items are put it, changes are made, etc., bards are accidentally
'nerfed' or in some other way affected (for the worse) simply because the people involved did not
understand how bards work.
For example (in no particular order, and in no way a complete list):
*Imbrued platemail (poh armor), originally the AC was the same as chainmail classes, only
shortly after this was fixed, singing steel armor was implemented again with chainmail ac.
*Singing Steel Effects:
the boots and pants (2nd hardest/rarest piece!) cast summon water, this issue has been all over
the message boards and not anywhere has Verant even acknowledged that bards can forage, and
so being able to summon food and water is a joke, and in no way affects how often they have to
make trips into town
bp: it has a 100 pt heal, I'm told (and my calculations concur) that by singing my regen songs I
can actually heal faster not using the bp

Effect on this breastplate is a real let down.

Why the hell would a bard need a 100hp heal when our song can do it in way less time.
