Every single time I go to other EQ servers and say I come from P99 ...

Others begin to tell me horrible stories about the devs and begin to spin tales of community corruption, deceit, deceiving, secret cabals, cultist like debauchery and other sordid stories with strange innuendos and entendres!


There was even one that began a small in chat yarn of why I was brainwashed almost into a cult ...

I posted here in RnF because I need all of you to tell me what is wrong!!!

Is everyone else wrong? Are they ... right? Am I blind? Brainwashed?

A guy even insulted me when I said I liked it in here, that I was probably in "cahoots" ( google that) wit the thuggish mafia that controlled all endgame raids and dropped me from his 5 bot group! :mad:

There is one server I really like and to avoid hassles and pseudo bans on my little chars there decided to stop saying I come from here ... when people ask where I come from I say I come from @Live@ now and even LIE that I know nothing of P99!!!

The only reason I can think of to play EQ with boxing so you can solo progress vs playing a modern game that allows you to solo to begin with is you actually prefer EQs point and click turn based glacial combat system. Very sad.

P99 has long had a reputation for having a terrible community. This is nothing new. That reputation is at least partially deserved. P99 being free coupled with it having a ruleset that favors high hours players skews the community somewhat. Normal folks are still present here as well, but the proportion of folks I'd rather not associate with is considerably greater here than in numerous other online games I've participated in.

Back on point, p99 is more like terrier eq. Everyone feels this obligation to 1337-signal their concern about terrier eq.

The P99 community has a bad reputation because of the brain-dead losers who sock dragons for literal years (I guess some a decade now). It's either join mega-zerg guild A or B, or accepting just not seeing certain content. So when every professional raider on the server is forced into guild A or B, it makes a highly concentrated sweat pit of mental illness, and unless you go full neckbeard it's not so fun to be a part of.

No one has even touched on the real reason - most EMU players know that most of the servers are cake, and p99 is the exception, it takes some small amount of skill and or time to succeed here. So when they meet a p99 player, they get defensive and feel the need to lash out to cover for their own failures in life.
