View Full Version : NEW SERVER RULE (no longer first to engage)

First to engage... no longer applies for outside raid targets. Apparently, first raid force to get closest to the mob = win. You can pull a dragon to your raid force, but oh wait - someone else can come over and out agro you and take it to their raid force. The pullers that can sum up the most agro and get the dragon to their raid force WINS! No need to be nice.
Thanks so much for the heads up on the server rule change. Time to load up on those mallets, shit...might as well re name the server Midnight Mallet Wars!
CAN'T WAIT!

I'm sure glad you posted that Metal! Before someone gets screwed out of a big boss mob!

Q: What classifies a mob as "Engaged"?
A: A mob is classified as engaged as long as it has aggro on at least one player.
This old rule doesn't apply to pullers anymore in an outdoor zone. This is what I got from today's ruling. Mind you it was a rule made previously by another incident, but never posted publicly. How are you to know about it? Either read it here and hope us non GM/Guide people arn't BS'ing you, or find out for yourself!

What "Ruling"? I've been the only GM online today and I haven't responded to any raid disputes.

Amelinda said she would make a post clarifying the ruling. So I guess we can all wait for that...

Maybe this was a joke? Not sure since it's in RnF. But in case it was serious...
Amelinda made a ruling after Faydedar was engaged by one guild but pulled off and killed by another.
Logs, ss's, etc going up in Petition forum later with further details and clarification requests.
(I'm curious - which staff member is writing their thesis on 'Gamers and Neurotic Paranoia: a Comparative Study of Nerd Rage, Delusions, and Anti-Social Behavior' ?)

Which guild had a member press attack first on Faydedar?
It doesn't matter.
Which guild had a sizeable force engage Faydedar head on in actual combat?
This does.

folks, if you feel that this decision was ad hoc on faydedar today, you mistaken. just a friendly heads up to be on top of raid rule developments.

Thanks for posting. I can always count on <Transatlantic Rampage> to be current when it comes to raid mob controversies
I wonder if the dispute would have turned out any different if rogean had answered? Well, the bright side is we all now understand the new rules. What will the rules be next time I wonder? I am sure Transatlantic Rampage will be in the right no matter... so why ponder.

This is nothing new. Perhaps you've never pulled dracoliche, or been involved in a talendor kill since Kunark launch. It's not yours until you've gotten it to your raid and engaged it. Pulling != engaged. Anything can happen on the way to a raid. Pull smarter, and come better prepared.
