My First Camp Stealer!

So I've been having a nice day in Qeynos hills, killing the guards north when a little gnome runs up on my spot. Watching me kiting for a bit. Then, with some balls way bigger than any gnome should possess, informs me that "The guards are camped" when I make my next pull. I informed him that I have been there for hours doing this. He tells me "The guards were up. You must have been afk." (I was medding) He then has proceeded to steal my guard kills for the past 15 minutes. Still going on. Toshort is his name, and too short for common decency is apparently his game.

Really bumming me out.

Afaik, if a mob is up and you're not engaging it in a timely fashion, you are effectively not holding the camp and it would be within the rules for someone else to pull that mob. That said, I believe you would be able to still claim the camp on the next repops if you were able to hold it down but not sure on that.

"I am allowed to pull as I see fit until I leave the camp" is not true. If you left them up for long enough, the camp is not held.

Imagine if someone could sit by some mobs and tell other people not to kill them. That would be bad for everyone.

However, it's an outdoor zone, so technically each player can only camp one spawn point. All multi-mob "camps" outdoors are just player conventions.

So the guards were both up for mere moments. When Toshort came to the came he saw me run by him kiting one. I then went to med up after a pretty scuffed pull which resulted in both guards being up.

I was not mowing them down but I was killing them at a rate where only one guard was up at a time minus poor pulls.

Oh well, looks like I have some things to work on from this unpleasant interaction.
1) Work on killing things faster!
2) Don’t let the bullies get under my skin so easily.
3) Have some backup camps to go to if I get muscled out.

Would it work to do just one of the spawns? Then maybe with 1 more level or so, you can keep two down more reliably.

It's an outdoor camp. You can claim 1 and let him get the other. He can't take both from you. If he's only killing 1, he'll probably get tired of slow xp and leave.

Unfortunately you can't compete with the autists of EQ. They have perfected the art of being pieces of shit, and any attempt at combating it requires you to hop into their dumpster with them. The best course of action is to give up on P99 and find something else to do/play because the servers are jam packed full of Toshorts, and they will almost always come out on top because that's what they do. Look at RnF, these are the people you're playing EQ with, lol.

People used to do that all the time....like just AFK for 10 hours instead of logging out so they can just come back like complete douchebags and pretend it's their camp, causing all kinds of confusion should there be a petition since they were actually there the whole time. Which also gave rise to what amounted to a defacto "If I have to come out there you'll both be crying" policy of sorts.

Regardless, breathing down somebody's neck at a stupid exp camp in some obscure place is your first indication that you might need to reexamine your life.
