If group members do 50% more damage than the cleric does the cleric get 50% less EXP?

I'm being penalised for conserving mana with the pet EXP rules.
I get 50% less EXP for being more mana efficient.
Pet classes have to be compomised just because a handful of people exploited pets?

uh if you're grouped up, the exp is split evenly regardless of who does what in the group.

this is why players who pet solo often invite someone to sit afk in group, its more xp on a 2 person split, than solo with a pet eating xp.

The way I think about it is I’m duoing with my pet - he is like a second group member so deserves half the xp for pulling his weight.

The fact he doesn’t take xp while in a real group is just a bonus.

sometimes u have to do one point of damage and genuinely be on the mobs hate list healing isn't enough i remember it being kinda buggy like that in classic not sure if p99 is tru to form

I’ve tested this a lot with charmed pets and it doesn’t seem to be the case. Still 50% exp when I do nothing at all

The way I think about it is I’m duoing with my pet.

A pet is not a group.

A pet is a spell you cast. You are still soloing and casting spells.

This is just how the game works.
