Imagine being able to deal with a competing guild directly and then going on to down the raid target and link the good loots that they didn't win.

Sounds awful, better to turn up, buff for ages, stab for 20 seconds and get your DKP rations towards a slightly better item.

It’s not that we want PvP on blue.. it’s more so to assist the CSR folks. The raid scene here sucks, and from what I can tell, it always has. The CSR seem to be experiencing fatigue trying to deal with the constant rule bending and complaining. Each decision from a raid petition or major scandal is neither consistent and mostly contradictory. Everyone things everyone else is cheating the silt arbitrary race or train metas and it just results in wasted time in petty tough guy tells, posts and petitions.

If we just enabled PvP in the problem zones, ST, VP, ToV, Etc, we could get rid of all the rules and petitions would likely cease. Unrooted dragons, triple engages, no variance, life could get simpler. Also, the guilds that constantly complain about warm bodies and welfare pixels could single handedly ensure these things become a thing of the past… if they had the fortitude to show up and actually contest players.

PVP would be entertaining at least. The current raid scene sounds like the same raid scene as 5 years ago. Like, literally the same exact thing happening in the same exact places - fuck maybe the GMs enjoy it? IDK. In 10 years they still havent found a solution to raiding on p99 it seems. Figure theyd try something new at some point, elf judge and jury sounds like a shit job.

The solution is all out warfare. Do you think any other server or Daybreak sits there and does raid petitions? Lol, no. They tell the players to work it out themselves and, mostly they do. If they cant, its a DPS race or train fest until agreements are forcibly made.

There is no magic rule or amazing single idea that can just fix a lack of resources on a top heavy server. It doesnt exist. Throw everyone to the wolves and make them fix it themselves is the only solution.

why not just send repeat offenders to the red server? either for life, entire accounts or just for a few weeks.

or make them do a quest to get back. maybe also have no drops on when /anon or /roleplay.

The first time I read about this idea, it was written by Tigole Bitties when he was the leader of Legacy of Steel and just about to start working for Blizzard on WoW.
I still think it's the best way to deal with it and it would open up for more classes to matter.
Too bad GMs are too afraid to commit. But also there's a reason red is a desert.
A system should be implemented, for corpses.

I proposed for Red that the Priest of Discord should summon corpses. You cannot res for exp, but better than a lost corpse.

This will free up some in game petitions about lost bodies, trained or body campers.

No, there's very little pvp on red till you hit 55 or so. It's hard to level cause you'll mostly be soloing unless you find someone to PL you up.

they are too different games one requires a lot more pixul slurps and favoritism and nepotism the other is a little more liassez faire and it's fun to be disruptive on pvp servers because you can still play the game no matter how hard the 'goodbad guys' try and the game is still fun for all

Not sure why everyone likes re-inventing the wheel and need gms to assist yall to make a decision in an elf game, but ill help yall:

step 1: gather guild leaders to agree on PvP in Raid zones by via thumbs up /thumbs down

step 2 : formulate some rules.. example:

1. anyone in a Vindi-capable guild has to turn in Tome of Discord,
2. must be red name to attend raids
3. no pvping in Westwastes or hitting naked toons

step 3: ??

there you go you have half the server that's insane doing what they want; how they want. Meanwhile the rest of the server can be "casuaL newBs"

The Red server should just be rebooted every other month because that's all the longer it ever holds anyone's interest. If they did a 2-3 month reboot ladder system I bet they could get average pop numbers to be 70 or 80.

As someone who spent 4 years on Tallon Zek, I have the experience and authority to endorse this idea, because I lived it.

EQ 1 on 1 PVP was pretty unbalanced and no all that fun, but group PvP did a lot to leveled the imbalance.

Yeah it's tough and I don't like to have an elitist or whatever attitude but for me the game is super dead without PVP.

Stats don't matter, don't need to keep buffs up, don't need to have any clicky abilitys, don't need to care about what order your buffs are in if you do use any.

More than half of the items and spells in the game don't matter when PVP is not in place. It just feels kinda gutless.

Not to mention the way camp disputes and stuff play out.

Interpersonal relationships in the game are actually meaningful too. On old live blue servers this wasn't as serious of a problem because most people were pretty cool roleplayers but in 2021 there are a lot more people that seem to need to be slain in order to treat others (in game) like sentient beings.
