I was just thinking the other day, if I ever play Luclin, and join the dark side of the force, I would want Plane of Knowledge. Maybe not all the books though. But if I am supposed to buy a Bigmac of Everquest with a large fry, then of course Plane of Knowledge.

But also maybe not. Maybe Luclin would be more fun without it. I have no idea because I haven't played Luclin or Pop in forever.

My EQ dream is the p99 staff going up to Planes of Power, though I know it will never, ever happen.

That said, I'd definitely donate for new content if that were a possibility.

At a certain population level you would likely be correct, I don't believe they are at that level or will ever get there.

Give me a p99 style single box server that goes up to luclin or pop? Byeeeeeeeee. I would split this server in a fucking heartbeat.

Probably a fair number of people would (not me). Seems like some folks are here more for the anti-boxing rule than necessarily for P99's chosen era. It might be an interesting cause to take up with TAKP's management. They might be more receptive to the idea than P99's management since the latter is outright hostile to post-velious EQ.

Oh yea a PoP server would great - that way we could have 3 sub 500 pop servers instead of two 500-1000. I dont really count Red as a server because its just Tune and his 30 alts logged in at any given time

I cant get past that eras UI after playing on P99 and TLPs though, plus the population is skewed and im pretty sure its counting everyones alt accounts too. That being said I would donate $1000 on the spot if it were to be announced.

You can basically use any UI you want.

Pop seems healthy from my experience so far, plus my 2 leveling buddies are the best!

They are always online when I am, they never have to log off early, or camp over to an alt to trade, or take forever traveling from A-B. They never AFK, or have to sleep. My cleric never misses a heal, my rogue never misses a backstab. :):)

There already is TAKP. My understanding is that it is pretty accurate (even the camera works like it used to). They have a raiding population -- not sure what else you want.

Many of us were fine just playing the TLP easy mode of PoP a few times. It's not the same...but PoP was never really a magical game IMO. It was just a fun video game at that time. It doesn't have near the same classic experience associated with it.

Takp is more accurate to classic EQ than p99 is. But that includes things that people don't realize as well.

However, the boxing does drive some people away and that is their right. If the devs knew then what they know now, I think boxing would have been restricted to 2 not to 3.

In the end though, once Takp is done (and some time has passed), the devs intent to release the code and databases for others to do what they wish. This will allow for fairly quick creation of a PoP timeline server with no boxes allowed on a more modern client (RoF2 maybe). This could actually be a reality a year from now as Takp is not far from being feature complete.

he doesn't just own p99, he owns EQEMU.

so he gets donations from all the servers.

eqemu and p99 finances are set for sure.
