I've said it before many times. If someone on the list has their IP change they should be removed from the list.

People would circumvent this with screen sharing programs however. At that point though, if they are logged into EQ they would be multiboxing and subject to the ban hammer.

As such I don't regard Elder Beads as an overly big deal. The majority of folks camping them on Green are likely doing so with visions of huge platinum payoffs dancing in their heads, not so much for personal usage.

Fun story, I traded a Tranix Crown for Holgresh Beads on Blue when they were still dropping and felt like I over paid at the time. Beads are not worth 200k-400k. I have no idea how this community has over valued these so badly.

Beads were retroactively buffed on Live to allow every class to use them to scout unseen areas, not just FD classes.

What's annoying is other things aren't being camped and their price is currently rising because people are coming into sudden large quantities of plat because of their best sale. Fungi tunics are a good example

Making the eye indifferent to all is actually a nerf, not a buff, as FD classes are using the eye to pull not to scout. It allows them to safely aggro mobs from a distance like a guided missile and to force the mobs to burn their cooldowns.

Personally, I'm hoping they implement this change for P99 soon.

The Eye of Zomm was (presumably) created to scout areas ahead of the caster. However, because EverQuest was made by a team of disorganized cokeheads (presumably) the person who created the spell, and the person who implemented were (presumably) not on the same page, and the code didn't allow for it to work properly, so the magical eye aggrod everything the player would normally aggro, thus rendering the spell completely useless. At some point, between shoveling out expansions at a frantic pace, somebody noticed this, and by Luclin or so it was fixed so the eye worked as (presumeably) intended and didn't aggro anything, making the spell actually useful to the classes that could cast it.

In the meantime, a side effect of the broken and useless spell, is that classes that can FD, can remotely use the eye to aggro mobs and move them, such as around a corner out of line of sight of their friends, to single pull them, or pull them burning harm touches and generally out of range of harmful spells, etc, making the elder beads eminently useful for FD pullers such as monks.

Doesn't work on TAKP, btw, as Eye of Zomm is already "fixed" in that timeline. That would be why no one there cares about Beads.

Well, while my beastlord has a primal fist, he has no Holgresh Elder Beads, so I can't really speak to that. I don't see why not, though! The Eye mob is still a lil NPC you can attack.

If you pull a group of lvl35+ mobs as a monk and flop, the mobs remember you. So you have to wait until a bunch of them reset before you can stand up, or have a partner to tag pull off you.

The eye lets you do that easier and solo.

Plenty of reasons why this is a bad idea. IP addresses change. Hardly anyone has a static IP. Internet goes out and people have to emergency tether. I get what you are trying to do and I like it, but it's riddled with problems.

Its quite a bit more useful for necro than that. I had a pair on blue on my necro before I quit playing there and most necros dont just hold a charm pet. You use a charm pet to fight a mob, you get both down low, break charm kill both for full exp and the beads help to massively cut downtime between kills. That being said its still not all its cracked up to be.

I also used beads in combination with AoN/lich/guise to glitch through some locked doors (seb crypt door is a great example). But this can also be done with shrink pots or hell, even stalking probes and any illusion item/spell in place of beads.

You obviously don't have beads on a necro with a VP stick. They are simply amazing for a huge amount of time.
