View Full Version : Torvax Vmar - Plaguebringer Proof issue

This NPC is related to several quests. [[Plaguebringer Proof]] and Gharin's Note.
Supposedly he is tied a 'Scripted' event in which after turning in 'A Sealed Letter' (evil or good version) to Te'Anara that triggers Torvax should then go 'drop' the next Sealed Letter on the ground in Qeynos Hills. I
I have tried this about 6 times without success. I am performing all steps in the quest, have the proper factions, receiving all other dialogues, etc.
I followed Torvax the entire nightcycle from spawn to before he despawns and he never dropped anything on the ground.

This quest seems odd. Scripted events are uncommon, but one that is triggered in an adjacent zone sounds suspicious. Can triggered scripted events across zones even work like this on P99?

Edit: After searching more I found this old 2013 implementation from Nilbog

Finished the related quest 'Plaguebringer Proof'. It didn't exist at all.

Pending update,
-Tovax rarely drops his note while pathing.
-Roesager will accept Tovax's note.
-Tovax will accept Tovax's note.
-Sragg will accept Tovax's note, spawn Tovax and execute him with related dialogue.

However, I am still questioning the Drop rate from Tovax. I followed him again for an entire nightcycle from spawn to despawn and he did not drop anything on the ground.
How rarely does Tovax drop his note? Like once per spawn? or 1 out of 10 spawns ? (nights)

This Escort / Messenger quest is actually much harder than I think it should be especially at the level. The problem is, his original pathing points are back and forth across the Newbie road. This means he paths directly through 2 Newbie Guards + one wandering Niclaus Ressinn all of which will kill him in a few hits because he is level 10.
I am a 60 Monk , epic, fungi, Tstaff and trying to kill 2 Newbie guards was actually dangerous, while also trying to keep an eye on Tovax pathing. Not even counting other Players who might also try to attack him. (and they did)

If the quest mechanic was implemented to be a random drop along his path ( instead of 1 of 3 predetermined spots on the other side of the zone ) I think his path should be altered to a more safe one too.
I understand the reasoning to implement a rarity because Tovax now spawns nightly instead of triggered, but I think it might still be too rare just due to the fact hes so weak and paths through newbie area.

This would explain why the quest rewards are undocumented on the wiki. This happens to be part of my drive to learn more about these quests and try to fix/update the wiki. I am actually having some fun trying new quests, until this bloke :mad:

Edit Edit - He finally dropped it!
TLDR -- I still think this difficulty is extremely too high because of the fact Tovax is a lvl 10 Evil who paths back and forth across Newbie guards and wandering NPC.
