To start with, I do not remember non-named or non 50+ mobs gating, but I'm going to set that aside for the moment (I assume if this mechanic is in, it was well researched).

My concern is that gating also is healing mobs to 30-40% health as well, and I can't find any indication of this being how mobs gating should work anywhere. I spent 15 minutes fighting a Spectral Keeper in TT because he would gate, immediately have 40% health (when he gated at 5%) and come at me again, until I got him down and he would gate again (rinse and repeat).

Is this "as intended"? Can anyone show me where this is documented (my google-fu is normally strong, and the only reference I can find to non-named mobs gating is TOV).

Velious is scheduled in a couple of months, that must surely include an update so it shouldn't be too long before this is fixed.

Probably in the same update that will finally kill MS in the planes. We've been waiting for that one for (checks notes) almost a year?

Gating mobs has always healed them to 30-40%.

I used to use song of highsun on NPCs to grief groups and wipe raids, by chain gating their mob.

Classic as heck, also works when you gate them while they stand on their spawns, distance traveled doesn't matter.

This was finally resolved on live, after I reported this mechanic during a beta raid which involved defending a dragon from a lot of trash. Turns out 1 bard could do the raid, repeating highsun -> fade would let the dragon solo the trash.

The dev graciously resolved it by making every raid mob afterwards immune to song of highsun. This was the last time I provided such info.
