Faydwer is a place of many opportunities - particularly when it comes to easily attainable shoulders!
There are many great contenders, notable mention to the Prayer Cloth of Tunare and the Braided Ivy Cords, but lets face it, casters don't really need gear.
Lets choose between the real melee options!
Coming in from the Estate of Unrest, the mighty Undead Knight and his Bloodstained Mantle (https://wiki.project1999.com/Bloodstained_Mantle)! Adds little encumbrance, has fair AC, improves DPS and lets you shrug off those troublesome roots and slows! A great all rounder!
Versus
Not to be outdone, an avenging caitiff of Mistmoore brings sheer tankability of Crested Spaulders (https://wiki.project1999.com/Crested_Spaulders)! Excellent AC and Sta for the level to attain, but not without substantially adding to your encumbrance.
