It has come to my attention that many of you on P99 Green aren't familiar with the Hallway 1 camp in The Hole. Over the last week this has caused unnecessary drama and confusion and my goal in this thread is to get everyone on the same page.
What is Hallway 1
Hallway 1 is a camp that shares mobs with CE (City Entrance) and is full of golems and elementals. Because of the tight quarters, it can be difficult to get comfortable in the hallway itself, so often groups opt to sit on the grate and pull mobs from Hallway 2 (aka "Secret Hallway"). This is difficult to do unless you have a rogue to pick the grate lock, or if you've completed the Ognit's Hallway quest which rewards a key to the room.
Location
If you run past the CE gate and run straight until you hit the room that requires you to take a left, then you have discovered Hallway 1. If you go through that hallway and take another left and then follow that to the end of the hall, you will reach grate. If this explanation isn't clear I can also post a video guide.
The Lore
Hopefully everyone is familiar with the history of the hole (https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=62110), and maybe you're even familiar with "The Hole Uncovered" volumes 1-3. Back in 2004 there was a GM event on Fennin Ro where Ognit gave the CE group in the Hole a quick tour. During the tour he talked about the infamous Hallway outside of the dining hall where a descendant of Khati Sha and Al'Kabor's nephew had an affair after a great feast. Ognit didn't go into much detail, but the takeaway for that CE group was that the Hallway was an area of significance, and thus should be its own experience camp.
Conclusion
If you find yourself lucky to have the Hallway 1 camp, please be nice to the CE group. After all, long ago it was a CE group that made the discovery that made your group possible. If you're also familiar with Hallway 1 and see something that I missed, please chime in.
