Kind of ironic that GRRM still has not finished GoT Book 6 Winds of Winter by 2021. Let's not mention the last season of the HBO show.

I'm stoked for Velious this summer on the bright side.

GRRM wrote book 5 of GoT over 9 years ago.... Book 6 has been coming soon for nearly a decade.

I wouldn't expect velious to drop on time either way, we didn't even get new dragons or epic yet.

Looking forward to so much with this expansion. Ring & shawl quests are amazing and fun, very memorable. Looking forward to finally getting a shot at soloing a WW dragon with my fancy torp shaman. Armor quests, canni 4, bear form. So much to look forward to!

There seems to be a noticeable lack of low level knights on Green server. In my entire 23 levels I have only seen 1 single troll SK, and no paladins or other SK’s in any lowbie zone I’ve been in. It’s all the soloist classes (Dru Nec Shm Mag Enc), a lot of bards, and surprisingly some rangers. But no knights anywhere

I’m wondering if a reason for this is that there is some 2h penalty on Green in addition to the hybrid exp penalty? Although the exp penalty doesn’t seem to deter the new rangers. I’m wondering if, as soon as velious hits on Green, that the 2h damage table gets improved??

No, the knight damage table and 2H damage bonus improvement does NOT occur right away with Velious launch. In fact the change happens much later on, at roughly similar time (fall '01) as the Chardok revamp--meaning at nearly the end of Green's life cycle as a progression server. The class experience penalties are removed sooner, but still a couple months after Velious opens.

Other things to look forward to:

--Drama surrounding the Sleeper
--Questions of what to do with a lifetime-expired progression server
--Players who migrate to the next progression server lambasting those who stay with Green

Wow that kinda sucks. I guess it gives me lots more time to save up for a future twink troll sk I always wanted to make. There will be a new progression server? So P99 is going to make the same mistake sony and daybreak does by fracturing their playerbase 15+ different ways with endless new TLP’s? Maybe I’ll just switch to live TLP when the next p99 server comes out, since it’ll be basically the same thing at that point :/

Good points.

I think end of timeline population numbers on green will tell the tale of the server's ultimate destiny, whether merged with blue or remaining separate. If history is a guide then it may be unlikely the population will be high enough at end of timeline to justify no merger from happening. In many ways I think Teal merging with Green was a trial run for when green will ultimately go into blue.

Who knows though. The devs have surprised us in the past with outcomes we didn't predict.

I'm looking forward to green hitting its timeline goal and there being no further reason to consider delaying a new PVP server. It's going to take some major personal sacrifice to play red 2.0 the way I want to, but I will be able to dig deep and get some solid hours in if it finally comes to pass.

What would be awesome is if they launched Green 2.0 at the same time as Velious. Folks who want to dip out for a new beginning could do that - and the ones who want to power through the end of Green could do that. Might help spread the raid scene out a bit.

It was their intention to merge green characters to blue and restart green from scratch. Whether or not that comes to pass...merely speculation on our part.

They will not merge green and blue until green has properly experienced various, I would estimate it at a year after various release bare minimum.

Would also depend on population number.

People on blue can't wait for the ability to sell or transfer their legacy items acquired on green once the merger happens. Better to let the mega neckbear scene on blue stay with itself. Merge blue with red.
