Oh, my druid's name is Seanlol.
Edit: For clarity, was removed from Dial. Did not resign or even on my radar following that dialogue exchange.
I agree with your removal. Tips are not a joke.
You should have raged at that person and demanded more money. The other porters in the guild are counting on you to keep tips high.

instead of flaming him and going to forums just be nice and tell him about the server's
economy
plus he gave you C so you got port even more people who will tip more

you're definitely the offender of elf mores here. whether or not you get a tip, thank them or wish them safe travels and move out. if you're particularly petty, then make a list and add them to it so you don't waste your time in the future.
honestly, if you even expect a tip each time you port someone, you're setting yourself up for disappointment.
and do people even port for plat any more? with timorous deep? personally, i even run my chubber ogre warrior and takes boats because of stuff like this.
maybe we should boycott all porters?

Publicly shaming this guy is shitty. However, if all you can tip is 3pp, unless you're under level 10, you should just say, "I can't tip, but I can give C if that's ok" or something in advance.

Seanlol,
We apologize for this situation. You were not removed from the guild by any of the leaders. The leaders are the only ones that have the authority to remove a guildie. We have found the culprit and we are in the process of dealing with the situation. Although DaP does not tolerate complaining about low payments, this situation did not necessarily deserve guild removal. I hope you are willing to come back to the guild. Please contact me in game.

I am a new payer who has tipped only 5pp for a port when I was below level 10. What is a typical tip amount? Like 30pp+ or something? That sounds pretty expensive, more than I can make running to where I want to go in that amount of time. So I’d rather just run rather than be put on ignore or some “poor tipper” hate list
I also love it when people in EC say “make an offer” which is their canned response to anyone asking about an item they are selling where I’m assuming they are hoping I’m some clueless whale who will overspend. I’ll mention that I’m new to the game and unfamiliar with prices on Green, then I’ll look it up on the wiki, offer something a bit below what I’m seeing there (expecting they may want to haggle a bit), and then get put on /ignore without even the courtesy of a “nty”. Love it. Some people on Green have amazing people skills...

~1pp/level is the generally recommended tip, but can range from like 0.5-2pp/lvl. If you are low level, they probably won't expect much from you, if anything at all. If you don't have any money, just communicate that.
I would recommend trying to not get upset over something as trivial as not getting a reply after lowballing a person. You're going to come across a maladjusted manchild with serious social skill deficits every so often, but you should be able to get along with most people, unless of course you are one of the aforementioned.

I remember from playing vanilla EQ that people will often haggle a bit in EC. I used to typically offer a tiny bit less (such as 10pp less on a 60pp average item) to test their desperation, and then they would offer a price slightly higher they’d be willing to go for and we’d settle for that. Back then most people would at least have the courtesy to type out 3 letters of nty and/or not put me on ignore to at least see if I would offer a higher price (which I did but was already on ignore it appeared)
Imagine going into a store in a area where it’s culturally acceptable to haggle and offering a price for something slightly below the store tag and the store owner stops talking and pretends you aren’t there. That’s basically the same thing

I got a 1.2k tip on my druid once. I'm convinced the guy was stoned and made a mistake in the money box but I accepted it graciously as recompense for all the non-tips I got over the years.
Karma will eventually come for you, good or bad, so play it straight.
I'm DAP on blue and I think you have done a horrendous wrong here to complain about the tip and especially posting it

Glitterports here, HI natewest! Glad my branding is working.
Im just gonna clarify some things cuz theres so much misinformation here.
To all the people who are bashing Dial a Port and saying we "port for tips be happy you get anything", you are wrong. We dont port for tips, in fact we are allowed to set our own pricing. We port for money. We are providing you a service. You could easily walk and take boats anywhere you want but you dont want that, you wanted the quick travel way. You wanted me to spend my time porting you somewhere instead of getting XP or farming or questing. My time is valuable. In fact it says it right here in our guild rules.
4. Greed will not be tolerated of any kind! You may set your own prices for ports or other services, but do not argue with a client over the fare received if the price was not agreed upon initially. You will get stiffed from time to time but just bite your tongue and move on.
This is the rule that was broken right in front of me and that is why I removed him from the guild. A long with this rule.
1. BE NICE & SHOW RESPECT!! This not only includes your guildmates but the entire P99 community.
Just to clarify futher for yall who think we port for tips.
7. Avoid the words "donations" or "tips" when advertising your services as we are a pay-for-port service and those words can have mixed meanings. We do however encourage members to advertise free CRs and help lowbies and new members as much as possible.
All of our rules can be viewed at https://dialaport.freeforums.net/page/rules for those of you who want further clarification of what Dial a Port is about.
You dont call a taxi and expect him to just drive you for a tip. Theres a fare involved. Luckily for the entire community MOST of us dont even have set pricing, we will take whatever we can get from any of you because we are doing a service for the community. Ive NEVER turned down a port, even if people cant pay.
A general rule of thumb is 1pp per level as payment (lvl 20 can pay 20pp, lvl 55 can pay 55pp ect)

He barely did anything. It's ridiculous for some level 40+ person to think a 3pp donation isn't completely silly for a port. I don't think he should've been removed from the guild just from that, but I guess you're just trying to side with your friend. And who goes into debt in this game lmao wtf

Next time, don't beat around the bush like a nancy... say the price you want for your porting services. Don't say "donation" then get mad when it doesn't meet your price target.

He just teased the guy a little over it, which isn't unreasonable especially given that guy's level, but glitterports went and got him kicked out of the guild for it. Now we have one less porter because some guy, who I guess just got powerleveled and so is consequently ignorant about certain aspects of the game despite his level, is a cheapskate. The worst that should've been done was just give him a warning and ask him to not display any passive aggressiveness whatsoever even when you come across idiots.

We're just agreeing then that it was your bad and a warning instead of removal would've sufficed. And yeah, I am going after a guy for being that ignorant about how things work when you're level 40+. Were you the person who power leveled him also? If so, thank you for creating this problem to begin with in addition to making it into a problem that didn't need to be a problem.

Damn, I remember running free ports for HOURS at HH just to mess with DaP porters. Fun times.
On another note, if you rolled a druid because your mates/guides you read online, told ya you'd be flush with hard cash. Hate to tell ya this... they lied. Make realistically 30pp-50pp a port and average 10 ports an hour. The life of a druid is not all golden shitters and silver spoons like everyone says it is.
OP quit your crying.
The guy who stiff'd OP should be WALKING to the nearest cash camp to start farming that sweet PP... To pay his debts.

As a druid main there are highs and lows, but being a loser in dial a port with a cringe shout message is forever. Best tip I got was a mithril runed tunic during classic from a lady who's son had used her plat so she couldnt tip me and gave me that + 2 other items worth like 50pp. Was a high elf cleric in one of the top guilds, bless her soul. Anytime I get short changed on a port I just shrug it off because there is more than enough people willing to pay good.
edit: chuckling to myself watching a neckbeard sweat in rage after clicking 3 buttons to move someone across zones, inconvenienced mere minutes for 3pp. I will say a small tip with clarity isnt even the worst tip I got.
