What I do will depend on the ruleset. I might not play at all if there isn't something done to fix the legacy item problem and the race to the top problem. The first month of the game should be the absolute most glorious but on Green it was heinous. This is player driven but the p99 staff has the opportunity to try to make server launches better.

It is no less classic to have progressive level caps than it is to have level 50's in one week.

We have now had 3 servers all have been progressively worse with the first month experience which is supposed to be the best part of the damn game. Green was really bad. I don't think anyone is really eager to have a repeat of that.

I was going to start a week into it with my 3 buddies but luckily I saw how it was playing out and I shit canned the whole program I had for these guys to have the best time at this game and get them hooked.

Hopefully the next new server has some changes otherwise there is no point in launching another server if its just going to be the same. Just play blue.

And quite frankly it is not classic to know the exact timeline of all the server changes and to know what stuff is going to be nerfed. I think that the next server needs customization to make the actual experience of playing project 1999 similar to what it was like playing everquest in 1999.

At least a little bit. Or maybe the project has realized its goals and will go no further. Green 99 is just about as close to classic as it gets. 2021 players break the game, and thats how it is now. Kill 1 mob every spawn cycle 99.

2) Roll assling druid and join DaP and make money porting and farming tons of rubicite and also get guise.
3) Use rubicite money to buy 100 boxes of abu-kar and 50 thex daggers and 1 manastone and log out.
4) Log in when Kunark drops. Roll Iksar. Rule with an iron hand, but also be fair.

Thex Daggers haven't bee selling well. Boxes are quite easy to sell though. I'd go all in on those. The daggers are just too easy get -- everyone made a level 1 alt to get one in their last week(ish) of availability. There was a line about 30 ppl long when I grabbed mine.

When server launched I leveled a necro and shaman to 12 and 15 and didnt play until kunark launched because of work. Kunark launches I bind both there and a week later work gives me the ok to work from home for the next 6 months.

Firepot bind leveling up to 60 is so damn clutch.

start with a toon that can solo. I started Green as a cleric, got to 50 pretty quick. Then started a Rogue, 50 felt like a real slog. Started a Shaman, solo'd 1-50 pretty much on my own time, was fun.

Kunark comes out and I try to level the Rogue...groups were few and far between, got to 56 and burnt myself out.

So yea, maybe start with the shaman from the jump. Such a great time.
