I petitioned the Black Lotus group in Qeynos and never heard back from the GMs. Took me close to 30 minutes of /ooc and pms to get them to stop for 5 seconds so I could bank.

You can bank while they are engaged in combat too, unless he was going down super fast. Thought a lot of bankers had a ton of HP though.

That would be fine but they are pulling the bankers with pets instantly while sitting on top of the buildings/walls. Impossible to get up to them in time.

I've petitioned this and the response was it is ok for them to do as long as they are willing in some regard to work with players looking to bank. Pretty frustrating I avoided banking in Qeynos all together.

Most bankers are on a 6 min timer. As long as the person is polite and notifies people waiting for the banker or waits on them it seems that both parties could get along.

This is the moral lesson, racism is annoying.

This was lost because designers thought killing bankers would be un fun.

Now we dont know that its bad to say you've ruined your lands, youll not ruin mine, because it makes banking annoying!

make all merchants EXP with loot tables for this moral tale to be told as intended by the great and powerful Brad.

It's literally every large guild in probably every city. I've seen at least 3 other guilds doing the same thing in Neriak regularly.

I've recently had friends join me here on Green, but several of them have expressed to me how they've considered switching to Blue or quitting P99 all-together because of how obnoxious this has gotten. Every time they go to bank, the bankers are dead. Sometimes, if they're lucky, the farmer will keep track when they're back up and will wait for them to do their transaction first. However, my friends are getting exceedingly exhausted having to wait around just to make a single transaction. One of my friends asked me why this isn't considered griefing, considering it's a comparatively important NPC, and I genuinely had no idea what to tell him. This is in Qeynos, where unless you're evil, you've only that one place to bank and nowhere else for miles and miles.

The fact I've potential friends I could be playing with, people who are entirely new to EverQuest, so close to quitting because people are so hungry for experience makes me extremely angry. What's so hard to simply leave one of the bankers alive? Could some of these powerlevelers please just chill and dial it back from 11 slightly? This seems like it's becoming quite an issue.

Banker killers deserve a slow and painful death, imho

I've only run into this once so far (in Qeynos) and while I do disagree with the practice overall I will say that as soon as I zoned in I saw an OOC message informing me that the bankers would respawn in X minutes. I do thank them for that courtesy at least.

But yeah, I thought bankers and merchants gave no xp... If sober me remembers I'll comb logs when I wake up.

This is ridiculous, why can’t the bank just hire more tellers? I remember back when the bank had employees that would actually help you AND I was making 7%. What’s next, are they going to ask me for my ID too? I’ve been going to this branch for more than 20 years now.

cant remember when but I am 100 percent certain on live bankers and merchants where removed from the exp/loot table for this very reason.

So, I'm seeing references to old-world merchants that used to be on beta-neutral faction giving no xp or drops, but nothing about the bankers.

A merchant you're KOS to won't attack but don't bankers attack on sight if your're KOS? Maybe we're remembering wrong and it was just merchants that didn't give XP? Other than merchants on their own factions like the goblin merchant and frost giants etc.

you can get pretty close to them and they are generally greenish but i have accidently agrod the bankers in HHK once or twice, but I got better at it, and can bank in HHK, Erudin, and Akanon pretty safely. Never tried kelethin.

The point I was trying to make was that bankers behave differently. A merchant will never attack you even at scowling whereas bankers do. So, there are obviously some differences there. Do merchants give xp on P99 (regular beta-neutral ones I mean, not "a goblin merchant" or whatever)? If not, then it seems like it matches what I can find on forums from 2001 and it's just merchants that had the reward removed to discourage players killing them. I haven't found anything mentioning bankers being changed except people talking about the one in Kael and he's not a "beta neutral" banker.

One positive - there are certain quests that you can't do without beta neutral faction and it appears that the only way to raise that (if P99 has disabled the bloodstone HHK turn-in like live did ~ 2001ish) is to have a GM reset it for you. So, at least banker slayers may have a slight disadvantage if they ever want to do the staff of the wheel or incandescent armor quests etc.

It's not against the rules -- it's simply, most likely, that killing Bankers will become a moot effort. Also, if you were to report someone, there's another thread section for that.

That said, I look forward to the day the pixel-chasers let us humble citizens of Qeynos bank in peace.
