Look at all these necros waiting to get a Circlet of Shadow and maybe a Locket of Escape. So neat and in a line: how real men earn pixels!!! *ubernerdflex*
P.S. I am #1. I am also first in this line. I just stepped back to do a picture for the group. We kind of wanted to flex on the community

Just buy it with plat. Less of a wait.
Might even buy one to destroy it for a gif.

how the hell do people spend 20+ hours farming some item
that's valuing your health over some game

1% of 100 things or 100% of one thing. I guess it depends how you 分工.

Make sure to get up and walk around frequently to prevent blood clots! Safety tip.
Getting up to go make another huge plate of pizza roles *does* count btw, so it's sort of min-maxing multitasking too!

It's not simple. Absent of Everquest that same person would be abusing their body some other way.
The 20, 30, 40 hour camp is just a symptom.
Also 'abuse' is relative. I know years ago I could I stay up for 48 hours and recover just fine in like three days. Now if I miss a night of sleep my body just dissolves into sludge.

I did a night marathon through the mountains of northwest Beijing. Started at 9PM and ended 8:45AM, 15 minutes before cut off. Terrible time for a road marathon, but not bad for a newbie trail racer in the mountains. Had a head lamp on for most of the race. Pollution was 'low' for Beijing standards which means 'omgosh I'm not going to race in that' by Western standards. It was one of the most challenging races of my life...until I attempted a 100km trail race in Malaysia... I DNF'd (Did Not Finish) at the 50k mark. It was hellacious. I'll probably try again in the future when I live in a clime with favorable year-round running weather.
Ultramarathons push your body, especially your heart. You can get hit with sunstroke/heatstroke, hypernatremia, hyponatremia, dehydration, and a variety of other minor and serious problems.
Not sure if it's more or less risky for health than sitting in a chair for long hours trying to make a big play in Norrath. I've done both and think you can do either and still be healthy if you take care of yourself.
