So it sounds like the best long term solution is to bind right at the freeport firepot. then you can live long enough to get to freeport and go get a port in EC.

There is like 8 hour variance on fay even if he's on farm. And eventually he won't be killed so quickly. it took an hour for them to kill him this first time -- granted this is a highly unsual one. i don't want be locked out of a character for an hour on top of eating at least 2 deaths.it also should be noted you have to swim down to the room and you will take significant fall damage. At only 40 weight I took 140 fall damage.

at 50+ u wont have many problems swimming down from spires to pot room even if he is up. he isn't a static spawn at room, he roams around the room.

I like binding in the room itself personally. It's just much more convenient to not have to swim down vs binding at top of spires. Nothing in TD for me. I can understand if you are a cleric (for res'ing in TD).

Binding in room > spires. Spires not as cool.

Been playing EQ say day one of launch (in '99) and p99 off and on since 2010 never killed a single raptor :) I think quadders like them...i don't play them...and I guess if you are a wizard or druid you don't need firepot room, u can bind right on the island or near it technically....that woudl be better actually

i actually see this choice as a personal preference, like the racials...i prefer inside the firepot room just cuz it feels more classic, lol...plus i like zoning into the room, just brings back a vibe
