View Full Version : Is ring of the dead still a possible quest reward on green as of Oct 17 2020?

Title is the question; is it? I've asked many people in game and nobody seems to know. I've gotten 11 reapers now, I just don't want to keep doing it if it's not possible.

Yeah that doesn't really answer anything. I'm trying to get it on a DE Shadowknight, whether it is nodrop or only usable by DE sk's is irrelevant, since I would be able to use it assuming it still drops from the quest.

I didn't see anywhere in the thread where it stops being rewarded, just where it goes NO-DROP (Plane of Sky patch).
Earlier in the thread, Nilbog said it requires Warmly faction but I'm unclear if he meant to recharge or receive on Thex Mallet turn-in.

Edit: It stops being rewarded when it goes NO-DROP. The post before that, Nilbog makes a command decision that the ring was removed around 12/99 and then assigns Plane of Sky release to be the nerf point.

No longer rewarded when doing the quest. Take it from someone who has done the quest one million times

Currently no longer given as a reward from quest.

Currently droppable. (different from how it was on blue at this time)

Yep, currently can be traded. Did not go No Drop yet here. On blue that happened on Sky release

It should have been made NODROP the same time the sky manastone patch went in, which never happened.

I strongly suspect the devs hit some bugs which prevented them from releasing the update on time, and they're probably scrambling to get it working asap.

However, because of this, green is now completely different than it should have been. Sky was trivialized with manastones.

Probably going to have to wait for Green 2.0 to see a proper classic timeline.

Bear in mind the Wiki doesn't tell you the value, or even the current price it's being sold for. It only tells you what people have been auctioning it for. Always take a look at the list of sellers. Notice it's just 1 guy that has been trying to get 10k for one. heh
